In 1955 I was 15 and saw Count Basie band backing early Rock n Roll singers. At one point the entire band walked offstage, leaving just the drummer Panama Francis, who carried on for 4-5 minutes. I was never so thrilled of a drum performance until now. This had me smiling and cheering on Dodz like I did almost 70 years ago.
