This clip is from the 2019, Musicians Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and Concert. The Surfaris wrote one of the biggest instrumentals of all time. We were very lucky to have the surviving member, Bob Berryhill, and his family, to do their classic summertime hit, Wipeout.

I’m the drummer for our Praise & Worship band at church, and many moons ago, me and the guitar player were goofing around with this song at practice one day and decided to bang it out unannounced on a Sunday morning. I was worried about ruffling certain parishioner’s feathers; however, everyone - from 8 to 80 - loved it! Love you & your channel and thanks for posting this wonderful clip. - Clay -

I was a teenager in San Bernardino during the surfer craze of the '60s... what a wonderful time to grow up! We had dances every Friday night at the YMCA, and it was pure delight. No internet, no cellphones, just lots of friends having a great time. We loved going to Newport or Balboa Beach on weekends. 🏝🏝🏝

I learned to play this song exactly like their drummer at 13/14 years of age. I practiced for many months and started playing it at street dances in the summer. One day my father, who was a drummer, had received a call from a Talent Scout about my drumming. My Dad couldn't figure out how I had learned to play this song. He was shocked when he heard me play it. My Dad had passed away in the early 80's so this is a nice memory for me. You all wrote a great song and not everyone could play it like you all did.

Played the drums to this on my desk in school.

The Surfaris, Ventures, Fantastic Baggies and of course, the Beach Boys. They defined it. For a few short years, we were all surfers....in places like Kansas, Iowa.... Yet another blast from my youth, Joe!

Not often that I hear a live performance equal or surpass the original recording, but they absolutely nailed it! Thanks Joe for another awesome piece of history!💫

I love how Bob Berryhill nails that guitar bridge at 2:20 into the next drum part before they re-enter the main melody. That bridge/interlude was always my favorite part of the song and Bob does it justice. Nice going, guys.
