As a former Bowser Junior Main, I can also tell you that you do NOT want to use your Neutral B super often. It is most useful for arena control and especially catching people who are offstage. The cannonball starting curving downward down after being in the air for a little while, so I HIGHLY suggest you use that to your advantage when you can.

Some additional tips:
- mix up potential in neutral is big; with side b you can jump cancel into fair or nair for pretty safe pressure. Mix that with actually hitting the opponent for a combo starter into up air or kill confirm with up b. And sometimes just let it rip to keep them on their toes, also good shield damage so if you use that after an interaction to keep pressure up you might get a shieldbreak. However the biggest mixup is not using side b as an approach option. Koopa trow into grab, a dash attack or bair spam all work so you have plenty of options, don't forget to use them all!
- dare to go off stage; with side b jump cancel + 2nd jump + up b making both deep and high edge guards possible. Combined with a strong fair and bair (both disjointed) makes for great offstage pressure.
- for ledge trapping there are several setups, some of which are low-key busted; down b > double jump neutral b covers a lot and if neutral b is spaced right it will start to fall and hit under ledge.
- combo routes are pretty creative; you can have long combos with up air and a lot of things can lead into it like side b, up tilt, up throw, hell even landing up air leads to up air. Stray koopas can suddenly start or extend combos, make sure you keep the pressure up when your opponent gets caught

I'm a bowser jr main. I don't think you have to use side b that much only for punishing
