Today, Edmunds gives our first impression review of the 2021 Porsche 911 Turbo S. The 911 Turbo S now makes 640 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque, which should launch the coupe to 60 mph in 2.6 seconds. (The Cabriolet trails by 0.1 second.) That's an improvement of 0.2 second over the previous model, while its top speed remains unchanged at 205 mph.

I like the ending statement. A Turbo S buyer is exactly the type of person who wants to be recognized only by those that truly know the capabilities of what they are driving. No flashy, hypercar looks to draw the attention. Just the respect of those people who wouldn't dare challenge this car to a drag race. I quite like that about this car.

I don't think I've ever seen a review with someone so unmoved and unimpressed with what is arguably the greatest any-situation car on the planet.

A shame about all the negative comments about the super rich plus the ‘more money than talent’ stuff. Good understanding of the importance of compliance a bit of knowledge on the history of the Turbo. I have owned every variant of 911 except GT2 and have concluded that the Turbo and Turbo S are the best. What a 911 really needs is low end torque which so lacking in the naturally aspirated ones. Anyway, no more from me, super-rich git that I am apparently ...mind you I have extensively rallied 911s and currently own 8 of them.

Um, the cutaway shot at 1:58 is not actually to the first gen Turbo but rather to the second-gen 3.3 liter car.
And the 1974 car (with the 3.0 liter engine) was actually called the Turbo Carrera.

Untouchable is a perfect word to describe this cars performance.

Taycan an 911 are two different cars??? Why would I want a taycan if I’m after a 911??? You can’t compare the two..

What I love about this car is the power the luxury the tech and the performance all in one and no sacrifices, It’s the ultimate grand touring sports car. I understand wanting the gt3 but you sacrifice comfort for performance but this there is no sacrificing

Love Edmund's and most all Porsche. Like the reviewer here and the over all feel of the review. But, there was not enough about performance. Not even a lunch via launch control? You don't need a test track to have your head snapped back against the turbo S logo on the head rest. You could have compared the Porsche given specs to the R8 or whatever competition you feel this car has. And plenty of magazines test cars without a test track. There are such things as tape measures and stop watches... there are accelerators you can load on your phone. More performance data is required for describing this car, IMO. One last thing I think interesting... what sort of car (and cost) does it take to beat this car in the 1/4 mile?

Who gives a fuck about the width. The car looks way cooler. Wider tires more grip. A little more weight, more planted on the road. And clearly these video shots of this 2021 911 Turbo S look SO GOOD AND COOL the way this thing FLIES EFFORTLESSLY around corners at a QUICK, SHARP, STREAMLINED SPEED! 😎👍👍✅

If you can keep the wing up I think this might almost be the prettiest 911 on sale.

Undoubtedly impressive, but I agree with Matt Farah's verdict that it's just a Carrera 4 that gets you a larger speeding ticket. The title of this video is evidence to this idea; extra performance is it's largest talking point. The Turbo no longer distinguishes itself sufficiently compared to the entry level Carrera, because the 'regular' 911 already has enough refinement and performance to be an excellent GT car, unlike the twentieth century.

This is a car bought by the well-to-do man with a garage full of Snap-on tools because they're "the best", despite still needing his manual to do an oil change correctly. No wonder it's $200k.

You all should do more video like this... good job editor for getting in there hilariously.

That small cup holder is a deal breaker.

I wasn't in the market for this car anyway.

What are your current experiences with the normal PASM and PASM S (-10mm). Can you say something about comfort and driving characteristics?

"What don't I like about this car" Not one word about its top speed. Cheers
