Показать описание
The Canadian lynx (Lynx canadensis) is a medium-sized wildcat native to the boreal forests of North America, including Canada and Alaska. It is a solitary and elusive animal that is well-adapted to its cold and snowy habitat.

Canadian lynx are about the size of a large domestic cat, with a short tail, tufted ears, and distinctive facial ruff of fur. They have long, powerful legs that enable them to move easily through deep snow, and their paws are covered in thick fur that helps to insulate them from the cold.

These cats are primarily nocturnal, and they feed mainly on snowshoe hares, which make up more than 75% of their diet. They are also known to eat other small mammals, birds, and sometimes even fish.

The Canadian lynx is a threatened species in some parts of its range, due to habitat loss and fragmentation, as well as over-hunting in some areas. Conservation efforts, including habitat protection and management, have helped to stabilize some populations, but more work is needed to ensure the long-term survival of this iconic animal.
