Those wishkers on ears are for detecting air speed and direction, most of animals lynx hunt are herbivores like deers, rams, goats those animals have excellent smell detection so lynx try to position themselves opposite of air flow so prey don't get the smell of lynx in the area

Bobcats have tufts too. Difference is foot size relative to body and lynx only have black on top side of tail.

You can also tell if their back legs are way bigger than their front legs causing its posture to be slanted down in the front, that's a bobcat, you can also tell by its orange color

Well, the caracal has similar tufts, and it uses those to determine the direction of the wind so it can stay downwind of prey when hunting. Maybe lynx tufts can work the same way?
