What causes hand tremors while holding a glass? - Dr. Sanjay Gupta

There are shaky hands and tremors in the hands, which can be manifested because of various physiological reasons, like it can be anxiety, work tension or any kind of stress related pressures, it can lead to shaky hands an holding a cup of water and if there is hand shaking, it can be noticed that there is any other environmental factors influencing it. We can suspect that there can be some peripheral neuropathy or there is something to do with the nerve unrest, or the nerve pressure We can also think of these things when there is hyper anxiety disorders or metabolic disorders where the nerves are under stress but we se generally if you see a common man or in a day to day life, when we are dealing with new social gathering o when we have stage fright or we are attending a party, and we are the limelight of the group, the we actually se that there is some anxiety an these tremors can come as a normal phenomenon ,which we have to control an d over a period of time it can be cured. But these are signs of a disease and the water falls or the tea falls when there is a hand shake, there is a little problem and we would like to diagnose it and investigate in terms of neuropathy and work stress can cause this type of nervous disturbances.

I just searched for this topic because I picked up a full glass of water with my left hand (I am right handed) and my hand and lower arm started to shake. It’s scary. It never happened before.

I don’t have this happen too often, but when it does I end up spilling drinks up my nose. The worst time was when I had hot soup in my hand.

Only when I lift a drink in the presence of a gathering, my hands tremble, resulting in drink spilling off. Alone or in less company, I have no problem lifting a glass. Why this happens? This is making my social life a mess.

This happens mainly on my right hand. The tremor makes me clumsy. Repetitive overuse working w my hand alot. My whole hands are messed up. Wrist arthritis, trigger fingers, carpal bossing, broken pinky, poor circulation in my index finger, im losing the oils in my hands, etc..

After a Day long, I just grab My phone and My right hand Finger started to tremble, I was Seriously Worried! Why did it happen

It happens when I do small things for example like small items like sum ejector and small pin etc

For about the last five years, I’ve started getting shakes in my right hand and if I pointed at something, my finger would go 50 miles an hour back-and-forth. I think it is due to nerve damage of the many incidents I had involving my elbow getting hurt. I think it’s catching up with me. I don’t know if I can fix it, I’ll ask my doctor tomorrow when I see him, for another purpose.

I had this happen once...several hours after I ate a couple berries from a tree that I thought were edible. I was fine except for a couple hours my had could not hold a glass but shook slightly. My had was fine except when i tried to use a thumb and middle finger to hold the glass. It would shake gently. It passed in a few hours and I never had that symptom again. I never ate those berries again either!

it happens to me when i’m picking up a glass that would be easy to spill, like a champagne flute or martini glass and i have no idea why, but my assumption was subconscious anxiety, like i’m nervous about spilling it but i don’t realize it

My grandfather hands started off by shaking and when time went by he can't hold anything his hands are shaking and he struggles to walk as well it's like his body shakes

Hello Sir, I also have some problems my neck unvoluntary turns left and right and there is always a tremor in my body when my heart beats even i can't make balance on my single leg. moreover my thinking capacity is also getting low and I can't make concentration in my books.
