Flash flooding in Oman and UAE hit by heaviest rainfall in 75 years

Oman endured flash flooding with authorities reporting fatalities before the United Arab Emirates was hit by what the government described as the largest amount of rainfall in the past 75 years.

The rains began on Monday night, and by Tuesday evening the desert city of Dubai had received the average amount of rainfall it normally gets for the whole year.

When I worked in Oman we had flash flooding a couple of times in the 80's if you have no soil to absorb the water to hold it back it goes rapidly to the lowest point, I was also in Dubai and Sharjah in the 60's no buildings a few villages, Nothing to see here in the 21 st century that has not happened in the recent past.
