Vintage Schindler elevator with EPIC relay-controllers @ Via Nassa 36-38, Lugano, Switzerland

Just listen to those beautiful relay-controllers, those really make music! A true electro-mechanical symphony. The bottom-drive traction motor is very nice too. Overall an amazing and well-maintained elevator, very reliable and runs very good. Another SWISS treasure at it's finest! :)

I think this elevator has some kind of switch on the floor just like the old Schlieren elevators in Turkey. This way they attempt to save energy. That is why the lights go out when the car reaches the floor or when the user goes out.
