As a political bettor, I would bet against any accountability for Adams, but I think he might lose his next election. Accountability for Adams would require a prosecutor to charge him with something. Adams has systematically sucked up to prosecutors and cops. It would take quite a lot for him to be held accountable

I'm as big an Adams hater as anyone, OK maybe not quite as big a hater as Olay, but the modernizing trash pickup in NYC seems like an obvious and very good policy to bring NYC into the 20th century and not just a stupid PR thing. Obviously, there's a million valid reasons to hate on the corrupt clown Adams but he was cooking with the trash cans. Those press conferences where they were playing Empire State of Mind as they unveiled the trash cans like it was some great innovation and not something the rest of the world has had for over 100 years were hilarious though.

Regarding congestion pricing: sorry, but no. As Ross pointed out, the MTA is notoriously poor at handling money - as in Infusions have a tendency to line executives' pockets, rather than improving the system. So why should the average commuter have to pay double the toll to supposedly help implement changes which have already been postponed for decades?

The NYC subway sure seemed worse post-COVID lockdowns. On my morning commute I saw lots of turnstile jumping and other forms of fare evasion, men smoking on underground platforms, and subway cars reeking of cigarette smoke. This is minor stuff but not a great way to start the day. It affected my morale to the point where I work remotely 5 days a week now.
