This has to be the most concise channel on the law involving active cases.

"Look into your hearts and do what's right" - Darrell Brooks to his jury. Well, they did, as will all the others - his time has come and anyone who takes his side, as some assholes have, is as disgusting as he is. And he didn't have Covid then and he didn't have it when he said he had it three weeks ago. And the judges who set those low bails should be held accountable - how can they not be?

I'm so sick of these Judges letting criminals out when they have a LONG history of crimes.... They say Jails are overcrowded... then take care of the overcrowding instead of releasing criminals to the streets... They probably could have funded parts of a new Jail facility with what it cost the people of WI for the trial.

He may have fooled some courts and some judges but he didn't fool Judge Darow.

Your phrase "a date with destiny coming up" hit the nail on the head. It took a crime worse than all his prior crimes to stop him.

Well done! I was wondering about his existing ongoing cases. This summed it all up with the extra bit of the failed opportunities the system had to stop him prior to this most horrific offense. It’s infuriating, among numerous other things, that Brooks yelled and screamed at the judge about the Jury should be allowed to see everything that they need to know everything! When there was numerous violent felony charges pending in 2 other cases and more that he had already been convicted of. The audacity is unreal. Then challenging the Jury to do the “right” thing! Even with everything he has done he still gets the final reprieve, from the death penalty. Once again avoiding the appropriate penalty for his actions and crimes. I hope with this case they are smart enough to take parole off the table completely. Several life sentences with no chance for parole.

Thank you for your careful, step by step, delineation of the time line in this case. It is not merely "awful", it is absolutely horrific. The incredible mistakes leading to 6 deaths is truly shocking and this video you have made should be seen by everyone in law in that state to prevent such leniency from ever happening again.

It’s beyond baffling how someone like this manages to keep getting bail for horrible felonies and yet we have people spending life in prison for minor possession of personal amounts of marijuana.

Every time he was babbling about "the jury has the right to know", I thought "damn right. They should know about his entire history".

What’s really sickening is you have people in the Milwaukee DA’s office AND in state attorney general Kaul’s office ….. still claiming bail should only be to ensure that the plaintiff is compelled to show up for trial, NOT to prevent them from reoffending….. and yet what are the last two of Brook’s 76 charges that he was found guilty of ? You guessed it….. bail jumping for these two pending cases in Milwaukee County ……

As you were reading the prior charges, all I could picture in my mind was him giving his closing statement, holding up his Bible and saying he was raised to live by The Book. I was offended by that move then, and more so now. And sadly any sympathy I felt for his mom has been erased.

While I understand the Covid situation created a lot of rushed & not well thought through happenings, is the prior criminal history not considered at all when determining bail? I had heard his record goes back as far as 1997. Maybe we need to change the system to disallow bail if terms of a prior bail have been violated, at least in the case of a violent crime. How heartbreaking this must be for the parade victims families. The system truly failed the entire community.

Lastly, the idea that another courtroom fiasco like this last one has a good chance of reoccurring is mind blowing 😬 I have no doubt he'll grab the opportunity to grandstand again, and I have no doubt that as his ex-girlfriend is involved in the other case, he'll also go for the chance to force another confrontation with her in the courtroom. I'll be fascinated to see how the next judge handles things now that we all know what to expect.

His Mom is definitely at fault, and all these matters. And now she doesn’t even have a car. Hope she sleeps with the memories of people that were killed because of her bailing him out of jail.

Happy yet so heartbreaking this man has done so many terrible things and the system just slaps him on the wrist, teaching him nothing until people had to die just for him to be treated as what he is, a criminal. The system not only failed his victims, it failed everyone.

The judges that set these ridiculously low bails should be held accountable for the tragic murders and injuries. I’m not sure if they can be from a legal standpoint??

The judges and DA in these cases should be held accountable for allowing violent, repeat offenders back on the streets to victimize unsuspecting, innocents. If he had been in jail like he should have been, he never would have maimed and killed all those poor people. Their lives will never be the same, but, according to Darrel Brooks, his conscious is clear. He can sleep at night I guess while the family members of the dead and maimed live in misery. That’s hardly justice!

I watched this trial from beginning to end. Thanks for the insight. I’m also a sucker for a personal library. You’ve earned a subscriber. 👍

It’s unthinkable. He SO violent and dangerous. How did those judges not see that? I’d like to see them lined up to explain. One by one.

I hope the person who gave him low bail has violent nightmares at night. Don’t let any therapist tell you different. YOU are a co-conspirator in this mass murder. It is absolutely your fault.

Wouldn't surprise me if brooks tries to sue the state for letting him out

I wonder if he’s going to fire this set of lawyers as well seeing how well that went for this last trial. He really should’ve been left in prison to rot while waiting for his trial. He’s a disgusting monster that has no respect for anyone including himself. His mother shouldn’t have paid the bails and given him access to her vehicle period. It really is Darrell Brooks fault that this happened but those that helped him along the way ought to be held accountable for their actions as well. Especially the mother, she knew he was dangerous and what he was capable of.
