I'm an American who is a layman on Brexit, but these calls are pure gold entertainment.

The British Empire is gone. Just like the Greek empire went, and the French empire went, and the Third Reich went. Nobody is better than anybody else. We need to work together in this modern world.

I've watched several of these videos and despite multiple requests, nobody seems to be able to answer the simple question: "Tell me one thing that will be better." Not even a guess.

I think the caller's brain broke “possibly”

Proof in 7 minutes that Brexit should have never gone to a referendum. Your average Briton does not understand enough about the implications of leaving or staying that the they could make an informed, meaningful decision.

U.K. House prices have increased and unemployment has fell since leaving the EU. Two benefits right there.

That dude lost me at "possibly". When someone is presented facts and their retort is "possibly", tells me they haven't done their homework and they haven't fully grasped their own argument whilst attempting to plow on.

The tragedy is that Mr Possibly is talking seriously. I'm only just beginning to come to terms with the stupidity of these callers who James has to talk to. Staggering.

"We don't want to abide to any rules"
Well, that's why you won't get access to a trade block then. The very definition of a trade agreement is to agree to abide to rules. The WTO does the same. You _have_ to abide to its rules which stipulates quotas and tariff levels for all kinds of products or you will get slapped with fines, bans and other punishments.

This is mostly about tax evasion, most of the backers of Brexit resent EU regulations and they've used immigration and the fear by some of dark people to get support. There's a reason why UKIP used a poster of Syrian refugees rather than white East Europeans when the argument is over EU migration

5 months later: Brexit is still a joke.

*The intellectual combat of a debate contrasts sharply against the physical combat of a fight. In a fight, if you are outperformed but refuse to accept that, your body will quit. In a debate however, if you are outperformed but refuse to accept that, you face little to no negative consequences. Your supporters might even be able to deny that you were outperformed.*

I remember reading years ago that it requires 7 times more effort to get a new client than it does to keep an existing client. And the gentleman here seems to think that a whole world is awaiting us and our Pot Noodles.

James O’Brien pointed out to his caller, Danny, that the EU’s “position hasn’t changed in over a year”. The actual truth of it at this stage, at this point in time in 2020, is that the position of the EU, regarding Brexit, hasn’t changed over the last four years, since the Brexit Referendum of the 24th of June 2016 (and in point of fact, even long before that date!). That’s a real fact. That’s not scaremongering. That is the consistent position that 27 independent nations have adopted, together as one. That can only be described as a sign of real unity and strength of purpose. None of the 27 seem to be deviating at this stage and I bet they have instructed their chief negotiator, Michel Barnier, to stay the course and maintain the longstanding structural and operational integrity of the EU.
