It's not even about modesty. Its flawed character design that's been normalized because its a woman, so she has to be sexy. For a character that we’re expected to see as a fighter their clothing, which is an integral part of their design, should reflect that. And more often than not male characters reflect that. Female characters aren't often afforded that and its a shame. Yes, have sexy character, women are great. But their attractivness shouldn't be their main design focus, it just feels and looks lazy. Especially when the male and female counterparts are right next to each other
