Being caucasian and the father of 3 bi-racial girls I have seen allsorts of racism and whispers and heard  evil stuff.Mixed families exist and will always exist.People need to understand that love has no colour except the red of your heart.I adore my wife of 14 years and worship my girls and plan on loving her to the day i die and hope to have a son soon.peace

This looks to be a GREAT movie.  This happens more than people know.  More and more grandparents are raising their grandkids, black, white, or both.  Kevin Costner and Octavia Spencer are both magnificent actors.

I'm not going to even bother reading any below comments because I'm sure it's a bunch of back and forth racial non sense. Which is unfortunate because the fact of the matter is...families like this exist EVERYWHERE! Another fact is, it's not just black and white but a lot of different mixing of backgrounds and it's going to continue happening. So, on that note...I'm going to see this movie because it looks like a good story (period).

I watched the movie and it's just how white/black people should be towards one another. This man wasn't racist, yes he noticed there was a difference in their races but it wasn't derogatorytowards black people as a whole. It also shows how most black people know how to show empathy without so much of an effort as others.. The financial state of the fictional characters doesn't bother me one bit because it's usually how things actually are.. sorry if the truth makes you mad.

since im a white mother with a moroccan african child.. believe me.. my daughters people on her dads side are VERY much warm.. funny and lots of them.. kevin reminds me of my moms family.. believe me I will EMBRACE this movie... unless you straddle both worlds.. this wont make a tons of sense.. but to me it does big time!

I'm black and white I can read relate to this story... But I'm not even gonna look at the rest of the comments cuz there most likly bout which race is better or worse .... But reality is skin isn't nothing but a color u all are human no ones better
