Video description / background:
Snowboard 'Euro Carving' is a funny thing... To some people it's a trick - a single toe turn with at least their hands in the snow, however they get there. To other people it's a retro thing from the Peter Bauer and Jean Nerva era.
Being 'a Euro' that loves carving I don't know what to do with the term... I just want to lay it out - and ideally on both, toes and heels ;-)
Here's a little taster of what it could look like, if I talked over a video you send me to analyze.

I know it's going to be another very good video, so I like and comment before it's even up, in order to feed the algorithm! :)

Hey Lars I was the guy that asked you about these carves on the weekend. Thanks for taking the time to speak with me! Also I love the title of this video, I definitely get why you told me to check it out now!

Such a beautiful carve ! Lars you rock ! Could you speak in one of your next video about how to become a more efficient carver on firm icy snow. This has been my reality this very dry and warm winter here in Charlevoix. I am able to angulate the board, but I can’t really incline my body in the turn. Thank you for this fantastic channel !

This video helped me improve in 1 day what I was trying to do in a full season. Thanks for taking the time for dissecting things, unlike other channels where they just 'ride & shoot'. This is I think the best snowboard channel out there. Would love to support the channel beyond the coffee, let me know how I can reach out.

Thanks for the video!

Some exercises I'd recommend for tight hips (all have examples on YouTube):
* 90 90 stretch
* Abductor leg swings (with or without band)
* Lateral chain stretch
* Copenhagen Planks
* Lunge Throacic rotations
* Butterfly stretch
* Piriformis figure 4 stretch
* L-Sit Cossack squats

A set containing all of these should take 10-15 minutes to complete. There are a lot more exercises that can be done, but these are enough to make a great difference 🙂

Love your videos. Since winter has been more than slow here in southern Germany, I am looking forward to trying out some of this advice next year. Funny, I love that Mark Fawcett image, too. Looks pretty close to a perfect turn. If your time allows, it would be great to get a video on heelside too. I personally find heelside (deep) carves very challenging, especially in harder conditions... Thanks, as always for the great informative content! Your way of riding and attitude to snowboarding are inspirational! What a great turn in front of that amazing scenery!

The snow is the show here. Perfect snow is required to make perfect turns.

Thanks for another great video Lars!
Fyi my partner is a hardbooter and she says she uses her ankles first then knees etc, but with spring loaded boots it has to coincide with starting to load the board, chest forward etc, so timing is critical (her angles: 55/50 -so pretty mellow for a hard booter🤣) mainly on an SG race pro board, so very narrow and stiff. 👍

Thanks Lars for sharing gold information. I'm starting to transition from all mountain freestyle to carving. Now close to 50 year old (my knees and back cannot take the park anymore). I'm concerned about injuries while getting low. Do you use any specific protection like kneepads, impact-shorts to protect hips and knees, you mention your knees are in contact with the snow (I just picture my kneecap exploding hitting an ice patch). I'm also concerned about my fingers, I usually leave my fingers pointing uphill so I don't catch anything. Thanks for your time.

Hey Lars, it is interesting that you could see the center of the board lifted off the snow in a couple of the shots. Seeing that the video was taken with very soft snow and good groomer conditions, do you find that the relatively deep sidecut on the Cheater limiting in harder snow conditions where it is more difficult to sink into the snow and fully engage the edge?

Would be awesome to get Mark Fawcett for an in depth Interview on your channel. Try to reach out to them.

Hello Lars, what type of board is Mark on in that Euro carve image, Korua Cafe Racer? In your next video can you explain why some boards are just much more suited for laying out euro or low body mass carves than other boards? Scott

Yeah I actually do teach ashtanga yoga and love your videos! I found ashtanga yoga very beneficial for these sports, gives good mobility, core strength and body awerness.

my stance is goofy. looking at your & james cherry toe turn makes me think it will take a long long time for me to do a better toe turn. 😣😭🤣

as always thank you very much Lars Sensei!

Sweet! Just asking myself why do you stay in counter-rotation with your upper body? On the fs turn i like to take my 2nd hand over to the snow as well like this i automatically pinch my abs on the right part and feet hips and shoulders are all aligned. So what's your reason for counter-rotating the upper body in a fs turn?

Hi Lars, I wanted to just react/ask about your take on hardboot? From my point of view(quite limited): I do not see any reason why not to go hardboot, especially for carving, the system is far superior to softboots. Hence, is there anything that stops anyone to use hardboots with modern snowboard, e.g.: Amplid Pentaquark, Jones Freecarver or Stranda Cheater/Pipeliner 2.0?
