I've recently had a hyperfixation on finding, collecting, and classifying rocks. I found a medium sized one on the side of a creek that seemed to have strange markings, so I got a small flathead screwdriver and a rubber hammer and carefully cracked it in half to see what was inside. There was a large, nearly perfect fossil of an ammonite! The details were extraordinary!

Igneous rocks and metamorphic rocks generally won't have fossils, because the intense heat involved in forming those types of rocks tends to destroy fossils. Generally, the finer the grain of the sedimentary rock, the better fossils one will get.

We all thought he was gonna break the rock but he just tells us there's a legs and claws hiding somewhere in the rock. This guys can even see through the 4th dimension.

I live in Kentucky, thought I’d give it a try so I went to the creek and within 15 minutes I found a handful of tiny fossils! I’m so excited. I’m hooked.❤️ It is amazing how much coral, little bugs, and shells that have found their way here.

You have been doing this for a long time. Honestly the three legs i couldnt see, even after you pointed them out! I did see the claw but i would not know what it was, had you not said! So i will leave that part to you! I will be happy to just be a spectator!
