Nice demonstration of team work in a dangerously complex arrangement. I think Animals As Leaders is almost ready to cover "Smoke On the Water."

They don't have breakdowns anymore. They have thumpdowns. My God. Wow.

3:04 This solo is so damn underlooked, I don't see anyone mentioning it even thought it is so beautiful. I absolutely love it.

I almost can't believe AAL went from recorded drums to this. Matt was just a flawless transition. the fact that he can play with computerized precision yet maintains a voice w/ dynamics is sublime

I feel like I'm supposed to be in some giant mechanical boss fight when I listen to this.

The intro sounds like a final boss' theme on a SNES game. Amazing.

His lead guitar building up to that harmonic color at 3:30 has made me a loyal fan of this musician for life...

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Ectogenesis (from the Greek ecto, "outer, " and genesis) is the growth of an organism in an artificial environment[1] outside the body in which it would normally be found, such as the growth of an embryo or fetus outside the mother's body, or the growth of bacteria outside the body of a host.[2] The term was coined by British scientist J.B.S. Haldane in 1924.[3][4]

This year we've gotten Handmade Cities, Violent Sleep of Reason, and now this. 2016 is probably one of the best prog-metal years on record.

I am glad the kick drum isn't mixed overly loud.

Tosin Abasi is the Jimi Hendrix of this generation, I think. He is just that much a genius and visionary. I have got to get this album, because I rather suspect it will be one of those rewarding experiences where you hear something new every time you listen to it, and that is such a blessed rare thing, these days!
