This is the only video on actual feminists books and I'll be reading a lot of these books(Bad Feminist and Unspeakable things)-already read Not That Kind of Girl and agree with everything you have said about it. Thanks for making this video and hope to see more videos like this by you! Fantastic job!

It's not so much a woman with an opinion, but rather the underlying hostility and warped logic that follows closely behind.

Superb video! I have most of these books on my TBR or wishlist, but you certainly made me want to rush and read them. :)

I can't say I've ever been tempted to read feminist literature, but it has come up so much lately here that I'm not sure.

I find Caitlin Moran a bit sitting on the fence and like you said an introduction. And I love the peter rabbit behind you.

Great recommendations! I am happy to see Bad Feminist is there. I agree that eating disorders needs to be discussed more and in an intersectional way!

Fantastic video! I'd love to hear more of your personal thoughts on each of these too.

I've read most of these, still to pick up Unspeakable Things and NTKoG (just read the first piece so far). Is Laurie Penny's Cybersexism piece you mention the same one that was published as a Kindle Single last year? I read and reviewed that one so if the rest of the book is on the same vein I'll have to hop to it.

I have read Not That Kind Of Girl and found it very intriguing and helpful. I am only 17 so I feel it's possibly not geared towards me specifically but I enjoyed it never the less.

Great video, I haven't read any of these but that is because I rarely read non fiction, something I really need to fix, however I've read some older feminist nonfiction for university and my A Levels. I may go and check out Bad Feminist, my housemate has a degree in Gender Studies, a degree which in the UK has been cut from nearly all university syllabuses.

I recommend Fifty Shades of Feminism edited by Lisa Appignanesi. It shows a wide spectrum of feminism, I really enjoyed it! Just finished it today. I loved reading the different views on feminism, including women who don't label themselves as feminist and dissecting the word, feminism.

How to Be a Woman wasn't on of my favorites. The best feminist books I've read so far have been A Strange Stirring by Stephanie Coontz and The Meaning of Wife by Anne Kingston.

Love to see what you make of Men Explain Things to Me by Rebecca Solnit!

Race and racism is an important issue but I honestly dont get why Feminists expect to hear about it in Feminist books which are to do with sexism, not racism. Both are important issues and result from oppression, I could see why someone would state comparisons but they are separate topics and I dont think most white women exclude black women or anything or that sexism is any different for black women. Whites may be glorified more in magazines but thats a racist issue, not a sexism one.
