SoD died the first day of P3 when everyone hit max level (lvl 50) in 4 hours from Incursions. Bunch of lvl 50's with nothing to do for months and the most exciting loot happened at lvl 25.

If anything, this 20 year anniversary should be the eye opener to most that there will never be a glimpse of old blizzard within the games. They're just cell phone games with admittedly fun raids (in retail) but a meaningless empty world. weeklies that are obsolete after week 1. rep that's obsolete after week 1. entire raid categories that are obsolete after week 1. seasonal resets making everything obsolete week 1 of any given new season.

WoW literally got me back into PoE.

After a 5 year break and going back to wow for 10 months. It showed me that i was coping the whole time.

Just remember Demon Fall Canyon wasnt even planned and the team created it while Aggrend was on vacation in a week. Fire Aggrend. WoW is horribly mismanaged.

We live in the world where multi dollar company treats its cash cow like a shit doing bare minimum meanwhile some shady guys in the basement are crafting ultimate classic+ experience and even turning whole game into UE5.

Season of Discovery was done the moment I hit lvl25 and got my phase1 runes. I regretted nothing and more I watch videos about SoD, more certain I am that I made the right choice. This seems to be the norm with WoW. Join at the start, then quit the nanosecond you get bored and then laugh at the game as it gets ruined.

They milked the cow long enough. Small team redid WoW vanilla with retail abilities, with gate way on levels so you guys pay subs on a longer period of time. And it WORKED.

I spent probably close to 100 hours finding secrets relating to the secret agents in SoD. Uncovered cool new lore that reframes the origins of the WAR of World of Warcraft that we have been a part of for 20 years. Last week they didn't rehire the dude who created the entire secret story and he admitted that likely it won't be finished in his absence. Chris Metzen pitched this whole story to us. You'd think the dude who apparently primarily led the team and created the original story for WoW would actually care that a retelling of it with more detail would end up being left unfinished AGAIN on release. This was supposed to fill in the story gaps they felt they left because of the original rushed release. It actually would be one of the most embarrassing Blizzard flubs of all time.. if anyone actually cared about WoW lore anymore. And SoD proves they don't. Like, 8 people cared in the secret finding Discord and then like 5 people replied to a lore info dump on Reddit and on the official forums. It is truly incredible just how little Blizzard cares about their players or their game.

I've already found my favoruite classic version. It's turtle wow. No way I would give a single dollar to blizzard for unfinished corrupted products.

Optimistically, Blizz will take whatever lessons they learned in SoD and apply it to a straight up, permanent Classic+ mode (Seasons of Discovery?). This is the real world, though, and Blizzard has caused me nothing but anguish. There's no more room for optimism.
