How to Mirror, Signal, Shoulder Check to Pass Your Road Test

1) Speed Management;
2) Space Management;
3) Observation;
4) Communication.

Observation is one of the 4-key skills that you need to pass your road test regardless of class of license, and regardless of where you are in the world.

And every time you move the vehicle laterally or you make a turn, you must "mirror, signal, shoulder (head) check".

When you check the center mirror, you are ensuring that there aren't any drivers tailgating you and that you can slow and bring the vehicle to a stop safely.

You are signaling to communicate your intentions to other road users.

And finally, you are shoulder checking to ensure that there aren't road users in the blind areas around your vehicle.

For the purposes of being successful on a road test, you must mirror, signal, shoulder check a minimum of 2 times before executing either a lateral movement or a turn.
