Soul Kiss is the twelfth studio album by English-Australian singer Olivia Newton-John, which was released on 25 October 1985. It made No. 11 on the Australian Kent Music Report Albums Chart and the Top 30 on the United States Billboard 200.

]I have to tell this... Olivia was my favourite singer ever, from the first time I listened her songs on the radio, at that time - early '80s . she was the reason I started to learn English on my own, there was no Internet, no cel phones, no way for me to take a class. I just connected the sound to what I knew of vocals and some letters. Then I used to read a small (but very good) English - Spanish diccionary and memorice words and pronunciation. First song I learned (phonetically) "Sam" 😘😍 Years later (13 -14 years old) with a little more habilities and saving from helping a little kid with homeworks I bought "Soul Kiss" CASSETE !! 😁 No money for an album and... no place to play it 🤷‍♀ This was one of the song I adore, I almost learned the lyrics by 👂 but made me feel liberated and the whole album moved me.

This is a remake of a song previous recorded by singer/songwriter Gerry Rafferty (most known for the 70’s classic “Baker Street”) that ONJ’s husband at the time, Matt Lattanzi, knew and loved and suggested her to record! It’s a brilliant track! The orchestration is very tight! Olivia’s vocals easily shift from low to high, effortlessly! She is so raw, honest and emotive in her delivery! The notes at the end of the track are quite unexpected and out of this world! It serves as an inspiring and uplifting closer to the unique “Soul Kiss” album! This song, like “Car Games” are underrated masterpieces that would brilliantly be effective in a film! The shortcomings of this track is there are moments where I feel the instrumentation drowns out her vocals! I would love if there was an acapella version of this track! Also, I feel the track is a tad too short in length! Just as Olivia’s vocals soar to ethereal heights, the track is over! Quips aside, this is a fine piece of music! 💕

I still remember 1st time i heard tihis in the '80s.Couldn't believe my ears.It was so impactful.Olivia's performance combined to the production made me stay numb n speechless for a while.Took me some minutes to "recover". Magnetic and haunting.

Crazy story, I had no clue the album was dropping. I went to the mall and stepped into Musicland (a local music store) and heard this song playing! I knew it was brand new Olivia. I froze! LOL! I went up to the front counter, because in those days they displayed the album cover of the album being played. And there she was. I got goosebumps. Grabbed that album and raced back to my dorm room to listen to the entire album. Those were the days!
