I went with the Zip as I find it much more convenient for photography. It operates similarly to a sling (which I prefer, but none are large enough for my needs), but it's also more secure as it doesn't have the mag latches (which make it easier for criminals to access your bag). The four zip pulls also make it very easy to customize access (and it's easy to tie-off the pulls for security). It's nice that there are choices as everyone has their preferences and PD stuff is built to last.

You aren't able to put a few more things in the right one. Fully extended it's equal to the 20L zip, fully closed it's only 17L. Pretty misleading.

Thanks for that comparison. Easy to see how the opening is very different on these two 20 liter bags. The mag latch is my preference as I would use it with side access. While backpack has wide open space it is not easy to access when using dividers.

I like the latch, but the it doesn't look as stealthy and is a little bulkier than the zip.

Damn I didn’t realize the zip was one continuous zip. That will be a mess trying to access the bottom.

Im getting a second bag from the everyday 30L - need something a bit smaller. Yea with all the cameras and lenses, that everyday zip will have everything spilling out. I was thinking about the zip for more security when traveling overseas but I can just not put anything valuable in the very top. Maybe pack a light jacket.
