9 Oil Cold Pour Test - Round 2

This test is a follow up of the test I conducted a year ago. The oils in this test were oils I wanted to include in the first test but was unable to.
For anyone who wishes to read about the third party independent lab tests that AMSOIL had contracted out to perform, the link to the document is here:

So much work went into this video, definitely appreciated!

Awesome test! It would be really interesting to see how different weights of the same brand/formulation flow, such as 0W20, 0W40, 5W20, 5W30 and 5W40.

Thank you so much for testing Mobil1 0W30! I always wondered how much better that would perform over Pennzoil 5W30. Much appreciated Chris!

I have been looking so many oil comparisons that I totally lost count but by far yours is the best! I'd bet that if you made a go fund me to help pay for the oils to do more tests like this we'll totally pitch in.

Once again, it seems that the Pennzoil Ultra Platinum is the winner in the 5W30 category. I was surprised at how well the Wal-Mart Super Tech synthetic did. It was definitely in the top tier and outperformed the expensive Red Line. You definitely have the best testing rig I've ever seen. Well done.

What is cool about this test is you performed the test in the area that you live and drive in every day. Maybe we did not see any oils fail but you can comfortably run an oil in your own car knowing it will flow and work in your environment. Great video and thank you.

Excellent video thanks, oil is such a science these days with engine tolerance so fine and it’s critical to have the right specification oil to prolong engine life. Yet such as simple test that says so much. Thank you for your time making this video. NZ.

Thankyou for doing this, highly appreciated, since we've had a very cold winter in eastern Ontario this year.
I've ran QSUD 0w20 in my 2011 Honda odyssey for 3 years now, a very underrated oil.
Thankyou...

Wow what a surprise! Never thought a 0w full synthetic motor oil would beat a bunch of 5w oils in a cold flow test. Shocking.

First time I used Pennzoil Platinum, I couldn't even tell my engine was running. I almost bumped it again before I noticed the tach pegged at 750.

Thanks for spending over $150. And your time doing this. I would love sending you what I use in my motorcycle Motul 10W50 synthetic, it's $90 per jug. Expensive!

I was surprised to see that Red Line which is a group V did no better than the other group lll oils!

Thanks for test the Quakerstate synthetic oil. I have always had good luck with their synthetic oil.

Looks like the 0W30 won handily, as it should, having the lower W rating. I would postulate that -24C is at or below a safe rating for 5W30, 0W20 or 0W30 would always flow better in arctic conditions!

thank you I have done this with some redline 10w40. It flows well in the cold much better than expected and far ahead of royal purple on cold flow.

Thanks to Amazon & Walmart coming out with synthetic oil. U can now always get quakerstate or castrol gtx synthetic much cheaper

RAT 540 site is a wealth of knowledge. This man holds a PHd in Mechanical Engineering and tests hundreds of different oils. You may be shocked at the results.

Really wanna to see 0W20 motomaster vs other 0W20 ones.

So, they are all good oils. Thanks for clearing that up.

this is just a viscosity cold oil flow test, it's the additional additives in motor oil that is the real test in protecting your engine and refining technics for purity. read mso data sheets available to the public to see how much is put in different oils. you would be surprised
