Appreciate all the comments and suggestions. Will definitely put some thought into it and do a follow-up video. Thanks!

That’s pretty cool. I cant do that with Audyssey. At least I dont think I can, Audyssey sets the speaker level and delay(distance). My speakers also cause a weird phase detection issue. Audyssey thinks they are all out of phase, but I triple checked everything and its wired correctly. I contacted the speaker manufacturer and they know about this issue, its caused the the crossover order. Tweeter/Midrange Crossover: 3 kHz, 18 dB/oct, Midrange/Midbass Crossover: 300 Hz, 12 dB/oct, Midbass/Subwoofer Crossover: 100 Hz, 6 dB/oct. 18 dB/oct is not typical and has others with different slopes.

When you adjust the levels in arc it is doing the same thing as EQ boost, EQ boost is not a bad thing as it's controlled well within the filter limits. The levels also only adjust the levels upto the max EQ level. So if the max EQ is set to 5k the speaker level is only operating upto the 5k point, effectively doing exactly the same thing as EQ. Auto phase only needs to be remeasured if you create new measurements.

Hello
I have a AVR 1140. I added 2 front height speakers to my system but after doing the calibration the volume level is lower, compared to the prior calibration when watching a movie. Is there a set volume prior to calibrating that you have to sit on the AVR?
I think I read somewhere where you have to set it at zero, but is that 0 dB or percentage on the AVR?

Hi there, which Arendal speakers do you have.

9:40 that could be an irregularity with the mic - I doubt you would hear it, but every person is unique as is every room and every environment. To me, your measurements look ok (pre-adjustment) and I would be interested in how your speakers sound with less filters applied. Personally, I would like to see you utilize Quick Measure with your bed layer and see if you can adjust the tweeter aim to improve the roll off. You seem hyper-focused on correcting the very short "air" frequencies rather than long standing bass waves.

IIRC, your bed layer is roughly the same speaker, so they each should respond similarly. I think you can use that great waveguide to improve the responses of FR/FL/SR/SL, but C may prove difficult given the location/orientation. From the reviews and measurements I have seen for those speakers, I seriously doubt you need filters applied up to 20k. I am certain you can improve the response with positioning and eliminate the need for EQ filtering.

I feel as though I led you down the wrong path in my prior comment. My point was to use less EQ filters, not more. I am not a fan of the Guru's ARC method. I do not EQ above 500 Hz and found my room really opened up and is livelier without it. EQ was killing my speakers. The one caveat I would make is your heights. If those peaks are harsh to your ears, they need to be knocked down. Let your ears decide, not the green and black lines - they are guides.

Go watch Erin's Audio Corner video about Flat EQ is not Flat EQ as it is very enlightening with regard to frequencies and how they behave in rooms. There's a lot to learn in this hobby and you have a great attitude. Keep up the good work. If you think my opinions are not for you, that is fine. Let me know and I will move on.

I would not touch the levels your just unbalancing your system that arc balance well i would not use more than 5k correction ? Also turn your subs on svs app to -22 lol on both and take a listen
