Mocha's own cache seems to slow down playback for me. I'm working with 4K footage, and after about 15 seconds of footage has been played, RAM fills up and it slows down playback significantly. Simply telling mocha to clear its own cache speeds playback back up to how it was when I opened mocha up. I'm not sure why it feels the need to cache frames rather than just read them directly from the video file, which it seems to do faster anyway. Even when I let Mocha sit for a while as the cache gets written to the disk and cleared from RAM, playback of those cached frames is still slower than it was just reading the video file originally. I wish there was a way to disable this behavior as it significantly slows down my workflow on longer shots.

Good tip, I always thought AE went "idle" on opening external plugin windows.
