Netero feels like he stands in a class above all the other characters in the show, at least the ones we have seen. If even Meruen can't avoid his attacks, and only survives them due to his god-tier durability, then who else in the show could possibly defeat Netero? Everyone else would get squashed.

Here is a fun fact. The sequence from 0:20 to 1:56 would be normally completed by Netero in less than 0.3 seconds... Now imagine being his enemy...

This is what makes HunterXHunter so amazing. The amount of freedom in the Nen usage is truly fantastic. The over arching rules are simple, and the more strict you become, the more interesting it gets. Netero does have amazing Nen sure, but it’s the fact that he limited his actions that makes him so unique and strong. He always prays but he prays so well that time practically stops 😂 and that is cool as fuck. Easily one of the coolest things to me, to see what one persons immense dedication can produce given the Magic’s rules.

I didn't realize untill now that Netero says "...before my heart is swayed" meaning he doesn't want to be convinced by Meruem's words, but also literally because if his heart stops, the bomb will go off

Notice how Pitou and Meruem can follow his movements, whereas when Netero did it in from of the dojo he froze and disappeared on the set up. Its that small detail in animations that says a lot with so little. Pitou wasn't able to see lady Guanyin only the attack, but Meruem could see everything, showing the difference in power.
