I am so pleased with this video I can't even put it in words. You did it in no time. The video didn't even look edited. Thank you.

Man you are good. I just did one of these thinking I could do it as fast, but I struggled cause The marks wouldn't line-up and the chain kept slipping off the crank. I eventually got it, but it was definitely challenging. Props to you sir.

Very important bit near the very end; rotating the exhaust cam to fit the sprocket. As long as the chain lines up, the sprocket has a notch in it so it can only bolt to the cam one way. Don’t be afraid to rotate the cam as long as you have your chain marks line up with the sprocket marks.

Hello brother thanks for the video bud ... way quicker did it today for moms car ... also did valve cover gasket set with new air filter ...to loosen that actuator sprocket was fun ... 👍 God bless success nothing less

I wished you could of showed when you loosened up both of the 17mm bolts. What size was the open wrench . Also did you use a pin 📌 on the lower tensioner to loose slack on the chain

Did you unlock the vtc before installing? Why does Honda recommend it? How and when do you lock it back?

I am getting ready to install this and the chain on mine. I have the directions but am more of a visual learner. So I have been checking out videos. I see that you turned the actuator after torquing it and it clicked. It doesnt say this in my directions. It did say to make sure you install it in the unlocked position which mine is in. Did you turn it to the lock position? Just wanting to make sure I get this right. Trying not to make it a whole weekend job. Thanks in advance.

How do you insure the chain doesn't skip a tooth on the crank while working on the top end? I can see how you inspect once chain is installed back on the cams via timing marks. Just when I do this, I don't want my chain to move on the crank. If that happens, well, timing cover removal.

Ever have any issues with the actuator after install? My timing is spot on, but if you remove the oil fill cap, it blows. Like on a 350 Chevy when a lifter goes bad or valve stuck open. I completed the job same as you. Also, was that an OEM part or aftermarket? Thanks and awesome work

So correct me if I’m wrong, Honda recommends unlocking the actuator before torquing but if the chain is not hooked up and you torque with holding a wrench on the cam then it shouldn’t make a difference if the actuator is locked or unlocked.

I messed up. Need help with 2014 Honda Accord sport 4cyl. Intake camshaft is different from your video. While trying to loosen vtc bolt with impact gun and crescent wrench at other end of cam. Me thinking Camshaft being one piece. Piece where I had placed the crescent wrench, rotated while trying to loosen vtc bolt. This piece that rotated is for the camshaft position sensor. how do I align this 2 together ?

Hello, is it safe to do the repair if it seems like my chain is slightly stretched? Mostly everything lines up except for those lines at the gears on the top, I’ve been wanting to do it but feel discouraged since idk if it’ll mess up the timing, thanks!

Did you do anything to the tensioner in this video? Thanks!

So as long as i keep tension by pulling up on the timing chain i don’t have to worry about the chain coming off the crank? Is it possible to zip tie the exhaust gear w/ the chain still on in a way that it maintains tension, then replace the intake gear? That way i just worry about putting the chain back on the intake gear

I saw that you locked the vtc actuator after you tightened it down. Now when i took mine off it was unlocked. so when i put the new one on do i leave it unlocked or do i lock it like you did?

When my crankshaft pulley is on the TDC mark, the horizontal lines on the cams are about 1/2 tooth off each other. Is there any way to get them lined up without taking the chain cover off? Should I even bother? It's not throwing a code. Chain tensioner is new and chain is not stretched. Thanks.

How did you align the belt onto the new sprocket? I only see that you placed it on and nothing else.
