In this video, Greg Shields covers automating VMWare View 5 client configurations with Active Directory group policy. When you've got virtual environments with multiple users, giving them too many accesses and options can make them a danger. Prevent that with configured user settings inside VMWare View.

One of the last things you'd ever want to do as a systems administrator for a virtualized environment is give your users so much rope that they end up hanging themselves with it.

A virtual desktop doesn't happen in a vacuum — remember that it's actually a physical desktop that needs to be connected to the virtual desktop. That connection that exists between the physical and the virtual involves a complex piece of digital machinery called a client.

That client has something called a view, and VMWare often provides that view. Properly configured, VMWare View can ensure that users of the physical and virtual desktop don't break anything or introduce changes that can disrupt proper operation of the environment.

Watch and see how to create new policy objects, how to configure their settings and ensure safe operation for all your users.
