after all of this why would any 3rd party want to even make content for 5e? the only reason I can see is money. and if they are all about the money are they really any better than WOTC?

Their response was limp, and borderline gaslighting. Notice how they leaned hard into their language of "you own your content" but didn't touch the portions that clearly allow them to monetize, use, print, and sell without compensation to the 'owner.' Just another little tell that means their sniff test didn't pass for all the right reasons.

WotC tried to run roughshod over the D&D community and got caught. I'm hoping that people don't become complacent with regards to holding WotC accountable.

Was happy to support OSRIC authors and those involved in creating it by finally buying a HC - Stuart Marshall's direct response? (As confirmed and endorsed by Matt finch personally) - "WOTC just sue me/us!" ;)

yeah, I don't think WotC was prepared for pen & paper gamers, but mobile gamers

Actually, before I discovered the OSR in 2016 my gaming purchases had virtually dried up for the previous 6 years. If everybody stopped producing content, I'd not be tempted to spend money and I'd probably come out much better financially😀
