I was part of that record crowd at Atlanta Fulton County Stadium when Hank Aaron hit that home run.

I will have to say 1974 was indeed the best year of my life. I was young and life was great and just beginning as an adult. Many adventures were yet to be expirenced. Looking back now some forty seven years later I realize that life is never what you dream it to be. There are happy times and there are sad times and time passes like sand through your fingers. But now being retired and successful l realize that no matter how successful you are in old age you can never be as happy as when you were young and full of life.

Carter was a peanut farmer. Not a pecan farmer.

I was waiting for your retrospective of 1974. I was a freshman in college, the drinking age in New York was 18, the compulsory draft ended, and the future seemed so bright. So promising. Now, many decades later I remember 1974 with great fondness. Halston. Nik Nik shirts. Sunday brunch at the Lincklaen House in Cazenovia. Falling in love. Yes, great fondness indeed.

Very CRAZY year if you were a kid in '74. TV was THE great refuge from MOST of it.

Those were the heady days of the 70's. World was so very different back then.

Compared to the crap we see happening without a second thought today, Watergate was nothing.

I remember sitting with the coach of our little league team the night Nixon gave his resignation speech. He asked everyone to be quiet because he had a reel-to-reel going to capture the historic event. The country was divided between people like my dad who thought Nixon was getting a raw deal and hadn't done anything other politicians had done in the past to people like my coach who thought he should go to prison. I just wanted to ball. For me anyway, watching Hank hit number 715 was the highlight of the year. The death threats and other crap he had to put up with were unlike anything any athlete has to deal with these days. That's why it sickens me that a cheat like Bonds is allowed to keep that record. Everyone knows he cheated, it's why no one (including him) puts up a fuss about him being kept out of the Hall of Fame. If baseball had an ounce of integrity they would give those home run records back to their rightful owners, Roger and Hank. RIP guys, I'm sure everyone in the Field of Dreams you play in now knows the score.

Had a friend in Toledo, Oh. We would be playing football in the side yard and he had to leave to go home to watch Disney. We always kidded him about that but God knows I miss those days, my friends, and family. Can't live that time anymore, but sure is nice to remember.

I was nine in 74’
It was the entry point year in my life to a very dark period of life for me. Many folks look back on a particular point in life with fond memories. I have few good memories from my childhood. I’m fifty eight now and alive in 2023 and grateful for that but I no longer sleep well at night.
