Excellent analysis! That is one thing that I like about Studio Ghibli films like The Boy & The Heron, Spirited Away, and likely even Secret World Of Arrietty is that they know how to take serious subjects, and get creative with fantasy elements, and more. I also loved Mahito Maki’s character arc near the end as well. Anyway, thanks so iuch for reviewing this Studio Ghibli film. I look forward to rewatching it myself hopefully fairly soon as well.
