Well here my thoughts on that idea of a huge map combining all of the regions. The game can start by having the players choose which regions they want to start in within customization of the characters. With this idea the player would play a storyline that kind of a continuation of that region instead of a remake. It will have a lot of the og characters from that storyline to give it that nostalgia feel for the game with new ones to add more interest. As the story plays out the big bad from that region will be making plots (Easter egg plots) behind the scenes that create mystery on what’s going on. After completing the main story in the respectable region defeating the gyms, and elite four and big bad in the other regions and now open up and the player can do side missions that would includes battling other gyms, elite four members and their big bads. Legendary pokemon would be catchable and not shiny lock (hopefully) and more content will be available. DLC ideas would be the world championship where the best of the best come to battle which will includes a new mysterious character. Pt 2 of the dlc should be about the big bads joining forces (like a legion of doom) under another mysterious character that not revealed yet. After playing the DLC the player character is revealed that the mysterious champion that was in part one of the dlc is the master mind of the legion of doom to summon arcus (which this game will have a new form for the this Mon that looks like standing upright with rings floating symbolizing its thousand arms) this character summon arcus to take over the Pokemon world to create it in his own image, a world where he never lost his parents that faith day. After completing that dlc pt 3 would be a celebi like even where you team up with a crew of your new friends to go back in time, but you see evens that happen in the past to see what happen to the mysteries character parents. The game would basically play like a detective mode where you have to go back in time for hints to reveal where the parents have been all these years. Trapped in a time space wormhole that can only be reached with the help of celebi. Well that how I would have made the game.

A Pokémon game with all regions would be amazing! I would like to see following Pokemon, traveling companions, a Trainer level up system, different Trainer classes where your Trainer classes affect the gameplay such as being a Pokémon Breeder class allowing you to hatch Pokemon eggs faste, being a Pokemon Professor allowing you encounter rare Pokemon easily, choosing different career paths such as Pokemon Trainer, Pokemon Breeder, Pokemon Professor or Pokemon Coordinator, new villainous teams in each region, social links similar to the Persona series, romance options such as having a girlfriend or boyfriend, limitless customization options, Pokemon League Conferences just like the Pokemon Anime and the ability to recruit new traveling companions in each region.

I would want: All gym leaders, all elite 4, every region scaling with current badges/team, freely go to any region and do any badges in ANY order, 64 PC Boxes or more or have pc computers in every region specific to that region but also have the Rotom Phone for our personal boxes that are accessible anywhere, every pokemon that's ever existed catchable including uniques like spiky eared pichu, mythicals, that one dress up pikachu, every gimmick but only usable in the regions they exist in, could have rainbow rocket thing where every villain won and have fully trained teams as their each region's final boss, every MC from each game are secret bosses like Red in G/S/C/Hg/Ss, and to keep the game smooth just have transition screens between regions so it isn't a giant lagfest like S/V. And it'll need an option for more than 4 player online since it's such a huge game. Have it be singleplayer, local multiplayer and online so anyone can have fun with it. Maybe introduce the region Ogerpon and her partner are from if it's not a region that already is known. And also all the anime exclusive stuff can be here too, and we gotta have references to ash...we gotta...

One way to balance each region would be to region-lock what you catch in each. It could be explained in the story that each region has pride in their native Pokémon and generally only allow challenges with them (you could have special battles where this is not the case within regions as well. It would have to scale or offer “recommended levels” like in Octopath Traveler. This could especially be tied to side-quests that incentivize revisits!)

The main drive of the player could match that of Ash, as well as slowly learning about “international” tournaments and the key characters that compete from each region until you can eventually compete and challenge them. This being where you can use the “global pc” to assemble your team.

This kind of game would have to be set in an mmorpg type format for it to be a safe bet financially. And would take 5-10 years to complete after launch at minimum, but the overall size could be astounding.

If you were able to choose your starting and subsequent regions by your own order, the game would suffer story-wise in how it could unravel events in an interesting way long-term, but could still be made interesting.

You’d also have to have a way of explaining why you don’t carry money/items from one region to the other, or just be incredibly overpowered money/item-wise after region 1.

It would have to be a monthly subscription, or in-app purchases could ruin it. I think having a robust clothing/hair shop for real-world $ could save it though.

Anyway, just some thoughts. Would love to see something like this, but practically I think the chances are low.

The only pokemon level mechanic i can think for different region is reset to level five. You can only have one pokemon as stater and each gym badge unlock certain level pokemon on pc. Imagine your stater for multiple region is pikachu at level 5 with thunder, thunderbolt, iron tail and quick attack

Idk bro, I’d honestly be down for 80 gym leaders with 8 elite Four to go through. Be cool they gift and or trade you partner mons for your journey

I think they have all the gyms all of them and you beat 8 guns than elite four than move to the next region and you have to leave all your Pokémon in that region before moving on and keep it like that until the end and then have a huge post game make open world especially cause in the endgame it’s gotta be crazy!! And pick where you start and which one will you go to next or have special settings to play all sorts of ways or ya maybe the game has level caps? With the last 2 regions you choose be lvl 100 start to finish? I don’t really like that one? But ya I love the idea and I think about it a lot but Therese so many different ways people like to play Pokémon haha Or even have different game modes? Like a traditional mode which would be what I just described and than a balanced mode with a game per region?

Also I LOOOVE A LONG STORY AND POKÉMON SEEMS SHORT IN YHAT REGARD whoops caps lock my bad haha anyway love the vid!!!

It could work if the battles were like battle tower styles, where your Pokémon level is set to a certain cap

All they would have to do is make it to where you start each region fresh and can't bring over other Pokemon until you beat the elite 4. That's pretty simple to me. Why can't anyone think of this? That way they could make each region one at a time as well so they could start with the 10th gen and add whatever region they want (or we could vote on which order to get them to make it fun) one at a time and they could even make you pay for each region so they can corporately justify making that large of a game rather than 10 individual games.

Think of how swsh and scarvio shows a proof of concept that you can make multiple regions. Imagine you pick one (any) region as your start from. You work throught the championship then start touring as a champ. Replay would be high (picking another region to start). Even as a mmo it could work considering the size of player base.

5:53 na bro it's easy. Make each region separate until you become the champion of that region then that region becomes completely open. So when you start a region you would start it like any other Pokemon game and play thru like normal but if you have access to other regions you could say have a spot in the pokemon centers where you deposit all your Pokemon and fly to another region where you can continue or start that journey and if that region is open you wouldn't have to deposit your Pokemon and the pokemon centers storages would be added to the total ones available. That way there is no problem with flying or getting between regions and you don't need fast travel and there's no level problems.

Only thing is. If they did that. They would need to remove levels but have experience just like the anime.

Pokemmo is a good attempt at this, you choose a region to start in and play through the game as normal, but after you beat the fourth gym you can choose to go to any of the regions from gens 1-5. The difficulty is also slightly greater and legendary Pokémon are actually really hard to get and keep. There is also an online market where you can get Pokémon unavailable from the region you are currently in.

The original idea for Pokemon 2 was to combine Kanto, Johto, Hoenn and Sinnoh regions into one Japanese island before it became Gold and Silver and left only Kanto and Johto.

Nah, just make the gym leaders endgame content with proper, powerful, setups. Let players free roam through everything, catch whatever they want, and face gym leaders whenever they feel prepared.

I would be all about having an 80 gym leader banger of a game. This game would be an amazing grind if it was a 10 region, 80 gym leader, banger of a game. Plus, if they used the maps from the original games, it would be even more fun. To me, they should allow you to start in Kanto and then pass those out as DLCs. They’d make a killing on that game for every DLC.

For each region, you should be able to pick a new starter for each region and train a new team for each region. That would be amazing. That way you have set teams for each region and you’d have to catch all of the Pokemon for each region and level them up in that region. That would be awesome.
