Everyone is talking about Bob, but like- can we just acknowledge how good Ashe's voice actor does? She legitimately sounds upset when she talks about how everyone needs a family.

Ashe is a softie at heart. She never had loving parents, so she considers the deadlock gang her “family”. One of her dialogues is “I always stick up for my crew”. She kept a picture of her and McCree on her motorcycle, despite having a grudge on him for abandoning the gang to escape a prison sentence. She held back on hurting McCree too much in the reunion video, saying that she should’ve shot him when she had the chance in the aftermath. They’re confirmed to not have dated in the past, so maybe they had a platonic best friend relationship, or Ashe saw him as a brother. Having him leave the deadlock gang just like that probably hurt her a lot.

After reading the book, it’s cool to see these scenes play out in the story.
- Bob making her favorite chocolate cake
- The fight with the Bonney brothers and her getting blamed for it
- Ashes red motorcycle
- bob waiting in the rain after she gets out of jail

If you have any interest in the lore, I would definitely recommend Deadlock Rebels. The book is a pretty simple and easy reading level, but I think it’s cool to read how the deadlock gang started

Her and Sombra are interesting to compare. Sombra was orphaned by war, Ashe left her family by choice. Sombra was taken in by a gang, Ashe formed her own gang. Sombra was forced to teach herself how to hack in order to survive, Ashe used skills she learned from her parents' business (per her bio). Sombra erased her own identity and was forced into hiding when she was found out, Ashe aimed to be a wanted criminal in order to become an outlaw legend. Sombra is a loner who prioritizes herself, Ashe is a leader who prioritizes her "family". Sombra steals information, Ashe steals physical valuables. Very different takes on the same sort of character concept (wanted thief).
