PULL MORE with Your Lawn Mower

Your lawn mower can pull small trailers, BUT did you know that you could upgrade the hitch on the back of your lawn mower and be able to pull much larger trailers?
This could save you time and effort by moving your trailers with a simple lawn mower instead of taking the time to get your truck.
Just make sure you do not exceed the towing capacity of your lawn mower.

The reason that your mower tried to do a wheelie pulling the large trailer is that you have the
ball hitch way up above the height of the axle which becomes a pivot point.

I welded a receiver to the back of my mower just the part that the ball mount needs works great and I can easily remove the ball mount. Downside I eventually blew up the transmission and had to upgrade to a k66. Pulls my 8x12 trailer no problem but need to add weight to the front so I'm not pulling wheelies. Also it's my old tractor so all the mower parts are removed it's just a tow rig I move cars around the yard also makes life easier.

Thanks for posing this video. I've got a similar back on my Craftsman, and for the life of me I was trying to figure out how to get behind there to secure the bolts. Pull the battery! Doh! Sometimes the obvious answers are right in front of us. Thanks man!!

I have the same kit and I found a receiver hitch on the same jungle site for the front so I can park a trailer with ease.

I prefer the 2in receiver from BigToolRack over this style hitch. I have it on my John Deere X350. I do plan on getting those tires for my tractor and a second pair of rims. im still on the fence about Rib tires for the front.

Yea I'll keep my mower transmission but it'd be good for a garden tractor

I know this is an old video but do you know how much weight the bronco pulled with the big trailer all together. Im trying to see how much i can hook up to mine without tearing up its transmission. Like the video aswell

Yea lawn tractors i dont think have a pull limit or capacity. They just say not to do it.. cuz youll flip over backwards going uphill with a load from the weight distribution of those things.. now you get those weighted rear hubs, solid rubber fronts with a 200 lb weight bolted to the front bumper/ hood, weld the crappy hydrostatic spider gears, get some tire chains for rear with sme good meats like you had and run a foot gas petal to give it the beans when starting a pull and shell pull like a fat guy on a diet at an ice cream buffet..

People have been killed by hitching too high above the rear axle, stupid thing to do.
