Jade was right about one thing. Mia is dangerous. Not because of her violent outbursts, but because of her spectacular incompetence.

Step 1: if you meet new friends who think contacting the dead is a hilarious form of a party game, ditch them immediately and get new friends

Mia's answer to everything is using the hand and not once does it make anything better.

To give a spirit permission to posses you is just insane. Blows my mind sometimes what the writers conjure up

The dead were the true victims of the movie.
Imagine being stuck in Purgatory or limbo which is a punishment in itself but some dumb teen comes and opens the boundary and disturbing their rest.

The hospital had the most terrible security ever.

THEY SHOULDVE LEFT THE DAMN HAND IN WHAT EVER ANCIENT TOMB THEY FOUND IT IN

What got me mad is the fact that Mia overstepped her boundaries with Riley and gave him permission to use the hand when Riley’s actual sister said no. As much as she wanted to feel like Riley’s sibling, she should’ve respected jades decision. None of this would’ve happened if Mia didn’t let Riley use the hand.

I didn’t think about the drowned woman learning about Mia’s mom during her and Reilly’s convo, thus being able to trick Reilly and imitate her through Reilly until the time ran out. It makes much more sense now, I was wondering how Mia’s mom would’ve been an available spirit from the hand

I like that this protagonist actively gets punished for their bad decisions. It makes it feel that much more realistic.

This movie was actually really good, but damn did everyone piss me off.

They already found a way to beat it, just take the hand off before 90 seconds.
The whole thing started because they were laughing to much or way too nonchalant while they should be ready to take the hand off before 90 sec.
No one reacted quick even when they know this hand really does invoke spirits. THEY KNOW IT WORKS. Lol

Mia let the 90 seconds pass for her selfish reasons, but everyone else should have took the hand off anyways. I wouldn’t give af if she got mad that she couldn’t talk to her mom.

Mia was just dumb, she immediately believed anything that her ghost mom told her. She knew she was hallucinating and still physically acted on them. It was literally just dumb decision after dumb decision.

What a horrible ending for Mia, but she legit caused everything.

It takes on a completely new meaning when you realise that it’s actually a metaphor for drug abuse

Turns out, the true hand was the drugs we met along the way.
This movie is very good. Mia should have really just went to a therapist

blaming the whole thing on Mia while failing to mention that the friends literally knew what happened to duckett the whole time is crazy

I think this movie was referring to not only someone wanting to fit in. But someone looking for an escape. The hand was a “drug”. A decent kid getting involved with the wrong crowd and the wrong things. Then paying the full consequences. Mia made many horrible choices. But I think Mia and duckett became “addicted” to using the hand. The grief led them to use the hand again and again and again. I don’t care what age you are if you’re doing something like that you’re stupid lol. But I do think the movie meant to make the hand not seem as serious as it was. Like drugs or a ouji board.

So many people missed this, but Mia does NOT throw herself in front of the car. She hesitates about pushing the boy, but it's unclear if she would have gone through with it because she doesn't get a chance to decide. If you look closely to the right during the pov scene from the inside of the car you see Jade running up to Mia and pushing her.

I don't think Mia just wanted to fit in... she actually hoped to connect with her mom in some way. She's probably missing her to a point that she had hoped that one of the random spirits that would connect would be her mom.

The haunted handshake got me thinking about all the times I refused to take someone's hand. Probably because I had trust issues.

Mia doesn’t care. She just lost her mom. If fitting in is a possibility, it’s better than her current reality. I really don’t think that fitting in was her main motivation, even in the first place..

It's wild how Riley's friend kept calling him a foetus for not wanting to smoke, and in the vision the little girl showed Mia, the spirits there were eating an infant. Which kinda makes sense why they wanted Riley, and it seemed like they were also eating him. I guess they actually devour pure spirits.
