My little brother is autistic and missing chromosome 15, I love him to death and he love repition and repeating things! I play with him everyday and he is very smart, he is turning 8 in 2 days (July 19) and he is such an amazing boy!! My mom has severe anxiety and anger, she takes pills for it but sometimes she misses a dose (or a lot) and she takes it out on him even though he can’t help it and it’s really hard on him, especially due to his special needs, I try to help him as much as possible even if I get a few bruises landed on my body, yet somehow, through all of this, he wakes up the next day as if a reset button has been pressed and he carries on like nothing happened. He is truly remarkable and I love him so much!

This video hits. I never knew most of my life until we discovered our son has autism that I also have autism. I spent years with psychiatrists and psychologists thinking I had some form of mental illness but it's mostly anxiety/panic from sensory overload that many autistic people experience. My son began experiencing these shutdowns during family outings and we finally made the discovery.

It's so crazy how much my son and your son have in common, from the laughing to the wearing costumes and wanting to make people happy and coloring pictures. He's also highly intelligent with a middle school or better vocabulary at age 6.

Thanks for shedding light on this topic. Hopefully we can get people to view autism for what it actually is.
