I Got Scammed on Ebay but Won! How to Avoid Scams & Fraud Reselling! Protect yourself as a Seller! In this video, I go over the things you need to do to protect yourself as a reseller on Ebay. My experience on EBay has been excellent. Over the past 17 years, the good has by far outweighed the bad. When I have had issues, I have found the majority of the time Ebay backs me up. There are times that I am wrong though and I have to recognize that and do the right thing as a business. I have an example of an EBay issue that I had that I thought was fraud, but I discovered it wasn't! I explained how I handled the case. I had another issue just last week where a buyer did try to commit fraud but EBay backed me up and I won the case. I go over what I did to make sure I was protected. I have learned in 17 years, most people are good and honest. It is rare that I have delt with problems, but that is part of the cost of doing business. For me, it is worth it to be able to sell on eBay!

Ring Video Doorbell - One of my favorite items for reselling! I can monitor when my mail carrier picks up my packages and even communicate with her when I am not at home! (You can use the app on the phone and talk to the person at your door.) I also feel like it could keep potential theft of packages away!

I listed a set of my higher end pokemon cards on eBay for $425 and it was sold in about 15mins, I was so excited! The buyer messaged me moments later asking me to contact them via text about a question they had and gave me a cell number. It seemed sketchy so I politely responded with, I would prefer to keep communications about all sales on eBay platform but I'm happy to answer any questions you may have. Of course no response and the buyer has not paid after 3 days so far. Glad I handled it the way I did. Great info as always Debbie!

I needed to hear this today! eBay has me so bummed out. I've cross listed some of my items from Poshmark to eBay and fb marketplace and have had zero action besides scammers. The same items are selling over on Posh for the same price or more, so I'm confused! I finally had my first eBay sale a few weeks ago and was so excited. Last night I got the notification that the buyer is returning the item because it doesn't fit. Super bummed because it was my first sale. I think she's going to end up paying more in shipping it to her and now back to me than she paid for the item ( it was an $8 dress.) I've been wanting to cross list more of my closet, but it feels like a waste of time right now! Great to hear about all your success there though, it gives me hope that maybe it'll turn around.

EBay is heavily geared to buyers. I’ve been on EBay as buyer and seller many years almost since the beginning but I’m not selling anything else unless EBay does much more to screen out scam buyers. Or at least allow sellers to have more options for screening potential buyers like no one under x about of feedback and/or years on the platform. Yes you might lose some sales and it would make it harder for newer buyers but I’m tired of being ripped off on EBay. Also need to allow reciprocal feedback again. Only buying from here on out unless they step up options for sellers.

Debbie, do you think a brand new eBay seller should allow free returns, buyer pays return shipping, or no returns? What kind of seller protection exists against buyers wearing the item and then returning it not in the same condition? Thanks!

Hi Debbie! I hope you’re having a great weekend. I have yet another question for you. I found a super cute 100% wool buffalo plaid pea coat at Goodwill for a dollar and of course I took it. Now that I have it at home and I inspected it a little more closely I see that there are two tears in the lining under each arm. Do you find that it’s worth repairing that or do you prefer to just note the flaws and list as is. Thanks again for all your help! Linda
