Funny how she's answering for both of them, but his silence speaks volumes of how he's felt about her over those 10 years. And if he "fits all the boxes" as she claims, then what more does he have to do to get out of this obvious "friendzone?" She claims she doesn't want to ruin the friendship, and that's good and all, I guess, but eventually the friendship is going to be ruined because he's not going to stick around for too long if he has feelings for her and if he knows where he stands with her, which is only a "friend." I swear, it's like a lot of women somehow want a backup just in case their "bad boy" relationship fails and ends with her getting her heartbroken which inevitably will happen. I'd personally cut off that friendship if I knew that she was never going to feel the same way about me that I feel for her.
