hey grace, remember in 2019 when phase 4 was announced at comic con, you ranked the 10 projects in terms of how excited you were for them? now that you’ve seen all 10, could you re-rank them in order of how much you actually ended up enjoying them, to see how they compare?

When Grace opens with excuses for the movie… you know we are in for yet another “it sucks” vs “it’s the best movie ever!” social media war.

Grace, I think your enjoyment of both Doctor Strange 2 & Thor 4 is clouded by the knowledge of extra material and/or changes that never appeared in the theatrical cut. You're not judging the movie we got on its own merits, your judging it against movie you were expecting to get. Is that entirely fair?

I also think the proportion of MCU fans who also read the comics is much smaller than you think...

Why the hell does marvel keep shortening the movies .. we do not care that they are long. In fact we love that they are long . Give us a longer cut, that better represents the movie that was actually made

We’ve reached peak MCU saturation. 3 movies a year was fine, but when you add in all the D+ shows, it’s become a bit much to keep up with. We don’t have a chance to catch our breath or miss the MCU, when there’s something new every month or so. It also doesn’t help that the quality of many Phase 4 projects have been pretty subpar. I don’t know if it’s necessarily Marvel fatigue, but I’m just starting to lose my hype with the MCU, with how Phase 4 has currently played out.

They also might be editing the films down so they'll test better. A mediocre but relatively well paced movie will play better than something longer that drags. Even the D+ tv shows feel like they're on fast forward for some reason.

I remember when the runtime came out I said "uh oh." You got 2 huge Thor comic storylines in here + whatever original MCU material and it's just barely 2 hours with credits...

Tbh: Can’t the directors just be professional and deliver a movie that works within the runtime? Surely there must have been conversations about how long Marvel wants the movies to be?

Natalie as Mighty Thor absolutely stole the show for me every time she was on screen.
Her acting and chemistry with Chris is great.

I'm so sad that all these phase 4 movies with so much potential are just not living up what could be.

They’re ruining these movies with this corporate nonsense. Makes me not want to watch marvel anymore, they’re not striving to make good films anymore, just to milk money out of the fan base. We aren’t being respected.

I'm absolutely gutted they flopped the Jane/Cancer storyline. I didn't think Taika was the right pick at the outset and turns out I was right. And Marvel needs to tell their writers to start writing for the screen time they will be given, not for self indulgent runtimes. That's three movies now with messy, uneven screenplays that should have been tightened down with better focus. I wish there was more pressure on the MCU to improve but the fans let the franchise away with everything.

It's becoming a pattern with a lot of the MCU content that most of it doesn't reach greatness while being told to anticipate what's coming later. I think this "effect" would've been felt far less if the Disney+ shows were of a better standard, or if they weren't around to diminish the quality of phase 4 even more.

I will not "gloss over" the fact that they took GOR the GOD BUTCHER and made it a comedy. That's just ridiculous.

After a watching a few reviews, I’m still looking forward to the movie, but I have tempered my expectations a lot. I’m not a big fan of “funny Thor” but can’t wait to see what Bale and Portman bring to their roles.
