Step inside the pitch meeting that led to Thor: Love and Thunder!

Thor: Ragnarok in 2017 completely reinvented the God of Thunder, who, after Thor: The Dark World– many thought had become a pretty boring character. Since Ragnarok was such a hit, it seems like Taiki Waititi was given free reign to do whatever he wanted for the sequel 5 years later.

Thor: Love and Thunder raises a lot of questions though. Like did Thor Odinson get dumber? How many times are these goats going to scream? Can we see Gorr the God Butcher butcher some gods sometime? Was that Guardians of the Galaxy tease in Endgame really just for the intro of this movie? If Gorr thought all gods only cared about themselves, why did he assume they would rescue children?

To answer all these questions and more, step inside the Pitch Meeting that led to Thor: Love and Thunder! It’ll be super easy, barely an inconvenience.

The point about Gorr kidnapping the kids to get the gods to come despite believing gods don't care about anyone else is a really solid one.

Everytime the writer says "Hey shut up" in these marvel pitch meetings, when a stupid plot point is said, I feel like this is exactly what happens in the official meetings.

Damn Gorr entering the god counsil and obliterating people would have been AMAZING

The "guy w child soldiers vs guy who thinks gods should be nicer to people" line killed me.

This movie feels like it was specifically made so Ryan could make a Pitch Meeting out of it.

When fighting Thanos, it might have helped if Thor gave his powers to his many mortal friends.

“If it doesn’t land the first time it’s definitely not going to land the next 7” …A whole lot of this going on in the MCU lately

I found it odd that Gorr and Jane Foster where about as good as fighting as Thor. Who has literally thousands of years of fighting experience.

I actually agree with him that Gorr fighting the Gods would have been a cool scene. The movie could have handled 10 or 15 minutes of more action.

I was sure Ryan would point out when Thor said they had to take Gorr alive because that was the only connection to the kids... despite the fact that Thor had telepathically communicated with them at least twice and located them that way at least once.

Do you want to know wasted potential?

Just imagine if Gorr actually used Asgard’s dark buried history to explain on why all the gods need to die. Odin being a conqueror, Hela being the goddess of death, Loki being the god of lies and trickery, and there’s Thor, who used to crave the thrill of battle.

One thing that really bugged me as well was the fact you needed the bifrost to access eternity. Like Eternity is a separate entity outside of Gods, like equal to that of the Watcher. but yet requires the power of a Norse God to access? it just makes Stormbreaker into a McGuffin of the entire movie

The part that got me was after Thor promised Gorr that he’d protect his daughter, he immediately uses her as a child soldier against an alien horde.

Watching Pitch Meetings as soon as I see them in my feed is tight!

I really thought they would point out that it's weird that Thor never even mentionned bringing Jane to the many more advanced planets and/or wizards to cure her cancer.

“Hey Shutup” is 100% what is said when producers question anything at Disney. 😂

*"Thor: Love & Thunder"*
*"He's back and dumber than ever!"*
That should have been the tag line of the movie.

Gorr's reincarnated daughter couldn't have cared less about her father dying in front of him in the movie 😂...She was like, you out? Nevermind, rushes to Uncle Thor

“If it doesn’t land the first time, it certainly not gonna land the next seven”

I didn’t know Ryan had a direct line into this movie’s writing room.

Top marks mate lmfao

"The Infinity Cone" is a little like having a honey store and calling it the Zyklon Bee.
