On the off chance any LMG staff reads this:

Regarding the CT scanner, I'm a US-based radiation therapy medical physicist. We're the ones responsible for maintenance, image quality and safety of medical CT simulator scanners, linear accelerators, compute clusters for image reconstruction and radiation dose calculation and physics simulations using the CT images, etc., for use in radiation therapy. If you need any advice/help with it, I'd love to be of help!

"We bought a CT scanner."

I am guessing it's for Elijah?

To the Roku TOS changes issue: The law should be that the same methods to Consent/Accept something need to be used to Deny as well... with a similar number of clicks and entry process. If the method to consent is a single button on the screen then the method to Deny should ALSO be a single button on the screen. Forcing people to mail in a Denial of Consent is ludicrous.

I'm so happy to hear you speak about proper parenting skills. I have essentially stopped seeing one of my best friends, due to my inability to witness his painfully poor parenting methods. It really is a crime against humanity to raise little demons for the rest of us to deal with.

I worked on an audit of a large oil company. I was part of a team of a dozen lawyers working 100 hours a week for 2 months doing document review. Made my annual salary in those 2 months due to overtime.

The amount of crap they had pulled was making the project lead tear her hair out. The rest of us, who did not need to deal with the aftermath of what we were finding, were more just amused by it. They were basically building rigs just to write them off their taxes.

That doesn't work in general. They were able to get money to do the development they otherwise wouldn't have had, and then write off the loss, so it was a net profit for the company.

It was an independent audit, so we were not working directly for the IRS or for the company. The money came from the company, but they had no say in hiring, firing, or our activity. I don't know if anything came of the findings later. I never saw it in the news.

The single most important trait people can possess is the ability to reassess and adjust their opinions/thoughts in response to new information, instead of stubbornly sticking to their position no matter what. Doubly so when authority is involved.

Reinforcing this with children is more important than maintaining absolute authority. The only thing you're a parent teaches a kid by sticking to a punishment or edict which the parent wasn't fully informed about is that someone with authority cannot be wrong and should not be questioned.

May I say, it’s amazing that you picked up the pace your multiplatform distribution line so much. WAN Show is my favorite podcast to listen to on my way to work and it was agonizing always seeing the new episode on YouTube and forcing myself not to watch it because it would take almost another WEEK before the episode landed on Spotify or Apple Podcasts.
Finally it’s on a same day schedule 👍👍👍

This is the most unhinged tax write off wan show yet.

Please keep the UV protective hoodie going! I don’t care for it being anti microbial, but I burn super easy in the sun and it would be amazing in the summer! I can’t explain how much I have been hoping for this product since you first mentioned it! Please keep the project going!

On the Nvidia thing - it's a behavioral economics trick - if you add an option that is far worse than the other options you offer, no one will pick it, but it makes the other options look better by comparison. They want people to think 'one day is expensive but look how cheap one month is!! What a great deal!'

The viewer tantrum story reminded me of my mom's favorite parenting story. When I was five and first went to kindergarten, apparently I watched a classmate throw a tantrum and get placated, so when I came home I decided to demand something and throw a tantrum when I was told no. But my version of a tantrum was to lay gently on the ground, rock side to side, and gingerly kinda-almost-not-really kick my feet and wave my fists around. My mom burst out laughing and after a minute I stopped, sat up, and started laughing too.

Obviously I have no memory of this, but I fully believe it, I was super risk/pain averse as a kid. It also was the only temper tantrum I ever threw, according to Mom, so I guess laughing out loud at your kid can work. Lol!

Every week, little by little, I'm loving Dan more and more. The man is sassiness incarnated.

To add to Yuzu situation. I think there is a good theory of why they went down so fast.

When Tears of the Kingdom got leaked before it's release it wouldn't run on the regular Yuzu release, but would run on their "early access" Patreon version. So there was a period of time when it's not too difficult to prove that they were directly profiting off of piracy of Tears of the Kingdom, because the only way to play it was to get the pirated leak and pay for Yuzu's Patreon. We don't know how many people did, but I wouldn't be surprised to learn that $2.4M that they are paying to Nintendo was mostly earned during that period of time.
So this time around Nintendo actually had a case and they could easily prove that it was in Yuzu's interest to promote piracy.

I work with Industrial X-ray CT (not for Lumafield, just to be clear).
I can’t speak for Lumafield’s products, but if you’re interested in the underlying principles/what the general tech can do or why, I’ll answer questions over the weekend 😊

Dan coming to the WAN show was the best thing to happen to Luke. It has completely unlocked and validated all of Luke's intrusive thoughts and I love that they occasionally brick Linus.exe with the sheer amounts of wild and crazy ideas that reside on the Internet. 😂 10/10

As a European/german, as soon as a service wants my credit card (or any payment information for that matter) for a free trial, the service is basically dead to me, with exceptions of services I really need/want/know what it's about and trust.

Luckily, it is not very common. Probably mainly because credit cards are not something common to see, especially in the younger generations (at least in Germany). You always have to pay extra for one, and you can do everything else with a normal debit card or PayPal (with the debit card as a connection).

On boot times. Imagine you have turned your company's server off for maintenance (add some RAM, use canned air to clean some dust off, nothing major), and then you turn it on an NOTHING (not even a beep from speaker) happens for 5-10 minutes. It turned out everything was fine, just first boot of servers is atrocious. It's not a problem most of the time, but very painful when you are trying to, e.g., install new bios update or reinstall OS.
