This is just Pemmican that is vacuum sealed. Pemmican has a shelf life of 25 years uncovered, who knows how many years vacuum sealed. It's essentially beef jerky dried until it's brittle, and then coated in beef tallow. Native Americans had been using it for thousands of years because it keeps for a long time and is high in calories, especially in the winter when food is scarce.
