Lesson 61 - Reading Remediation Lesson Using the Orton Gillingham Method from Flying Cat Academy

Shawna is providing these free guided lessons so that educators have the support that they need to deliver an effective reading remediation program to a student. Shawna is a certified teacher with over 20 years of teaching experience. She is trained in special education, but this did not provide her with the skills needed to enable students to overcome reading failure. She gained the reading remediation teaching skills through her training with the Dyslexia Training Institute, which runs out of the University of San Diego.

Using the Dyslexia Training Institute's scope and sequence and drills, Shawna created lesson plans and made videos of herself teaching the lessons. Shawna's intention is to fill the gap that exists between the skills that most educators get in their training and the skills required to administer an effective reading remediation program.
