Turning left, 1st exit at the roundabout:
Keep in the left-hand lane. Check mirrors, signal left. Give way to the right. Once you're on the roundabout and about to exit then check mirrors again, keep the left signal on to exit the roundabout.

Follow the road ahead, 2nd exit.
Keep in the left-hand lane (unless signs or road markings tell you otherwise). No signal needed. Once it's clear to the right then go and keep in the left-hand lane (unless road markings or signs tell you otherwise). Before leaving the roundabout, check mirrors, signal left and then exit.

Turn right, 3rd exit.
Check mirrors, signal right and approach in the right-hand lane. Give way to the right. Once it's clear then keep in the right-hand lane. Before leaving the roundabout make sure that you check your mirrors, signal left and then exit.

Hesitation at roundabouts is common. In one of the sections of this video we show you opportunities and examples of when to get onto a roundabout and which lane you'll need. These are only examples of ways to avoid hesitating at roundabouts, only go when you feel it's safe. Taking the wrong opportunity can be dangerous, so be careful.

thanks a lot for your dedicated tips, been watching a few days before my test and honestly helped so much, had my First ever test today and Passed ! Thanks again

I passed on my 4th attempt, all 3 failed due to misinterpreting other drivers' intentions when entering a roundabout. I passed because I decided to change to 2nd gear when approaching a roundabout, which was something I didn't do before. This is my tip: If you select 2nd gear on approach, the car will be in the right gear if there is no traffic or you require power. But if there is someone approaching, you are going slow enough to safely stop and select 1st gear. This is something my driving instructor never shared with me so I want to help you save hundreds of pounds in failed exams.

I've had over 9 attempts at my driving test, and been learning (on and off) for a decade. I will never give up, because i've spent too much now. Being autistic means I find driving very difficult indeed. I can honestly tell you in ten years I finally understand how to choose which lane to use on roundabouts. i NEEDED to know this, and yet no one could explain.. not sure why. My improvement's already been noticed. THANK YOU!!

There is so much to think about, gear changing checking mirrors and signalling.
Im about to take my test in a city with nothing but the thought alone fills me with dread

driving seems easy, but multi tasking is annoying and you can lose your concentration easily.

I really hate 3 lane roundabouts because I cannot always tell which lane I'm supposed to be in. So far I've blagged it and not run any trouble, but hopefully this video will help enough so as I pass my test in a month's time.

This is honestly the best roundabout video I have seen, so detailed, with examples.

Roundabouts are my most dreaded part of my lesson. I am a bit more confident but still not there. Watched this several times and hopefully on my lesson on Wednesday coming I will feel more confident and brave about them.

Thanks for the video :)

I have recommended this video to my pupils many many times Chris. As far as I am concerned it is THE best learning resource for roundabouts out there! Many thanks.

I love how the second half of this video was narrated like a survival guide. I live next to the Magic Roundabout in Swindon and I just started learning to ride a motorcycle so it's quite fitting. Thanks for the great guide and examples.

OMG this video has proved useful for my car journey in the UK. I had always been confused and a bit nervous about roundabouts until I watched this video. Really nicely made, well explained and super comprehensible. I especially remember the speaker saying ‘Would you take this opportunity?’ So much fun!

I had my test today, 2nd September 2019. Passed first time with 2 minors in the Croydon area. I had about 46 hours in total with two instructors. One was absolutely awful, the other meh slightly better but not great. These videos have been truly helpful.

Chris; I cannot thank you enough. I watched every single video that you've uploaded, so many times. I passed my theory 2 years ago (today) & basically I was with the 'wrong' driving instructor for more than a year. I was never at ease with him and he would cancel so many lessons at the last minute. In the year and a half I was driving with him he never once showed me a single manoeuvre and basically was coming across as saying that I wouldn't be ready for the practical test by the time my theory expired.
I got my act together in November after he cancelled a lesson yet again. I found a new instructor - an absolute gem of a person. I'm happy to say that I passed my practical test today with 3 minors. Such a relief. I think the main thing is just to have a positive mind and if you're not happy with your driving instructor - it's ok to ditch them!
