I’m almost 90 yrs. Old. And I don’t go to many movies. The Elvis movie was one I didn’t want to miss, because I’ve loved Elvis and his songs since he was on the Ed Sullivan show. I am so disappointed he did not win an Oscar for his role as Elvis. Austin Butler put more of himself into preparing for the movie than any actor I have read about. May GOD bless his life.

Austin definitely should have won the Oscar for his awesome portrayal of Elvis. I swear at some points he BECAME Elvis! The amount of time and devotion he put into preparing for the role was amazing. I still cannot believe he didn’t win.

It's just scandalous that Austin didn't win an oscar for his potrayal of Elvis, he was so brilliant, he actually turned into Elvis .

Its crazy how much of the movie sticks with me after one viewing. Its frenetic, crazy and sometimes trips over its own excess but man is it impactful. It's a strange alchemy how Baz got this all to work cohesively.

He wasn't just another entertainer, no other artist is so well known 45 years after his passing. 🎉🎉

You truly get this movie. Elvis fans get quite nervous about any movie of Elvis. He's a very misunderstood and incorrectly maligned person. It is for that reason that we feel protective of Elvis and who he was as a person as well as an artist. The movie really accomplished its goal of humanizing Elvis and introducing the real Elvis to the world. For that reason, I'm eternally grateful to Baz, Austin, and Tom for the exceptional work they put into this marvelous film.

When people remembering movies of 2022, this movie will be one of those. I mean from beginning to the end, i was just floored. Also there is this one dialouge where Tom Parker blame us, the society for Elvis's death and in a way like this video suggest, we kinda did (Ofc not physically) . We are consumed by that American Dream. But also Tom Parker himself forces Elvis to work and limits Elvis's space of freedom making Elvis never achieving his deepest desire like having a tour outside America.

I really enjoyed this analysis. I do feel Austin should have had the Oscar for Elvis. His character spanned decades and was so diverse. He poured his heart and soul into the role and the result was "nothing short of spectacular" - I can't agree with Lisa Marie more on that point! Austin was amazing and I hope we see more of him❤

RIP Lisa Marie. Hopefully she's at peace, with her dad and son.

Austin may not have won an Oscar but his performance will be the standard for any musical biopic that's gonna come in future. Years from now you'll definitely hear people remembering how Austin was flawless as Elvis when they watch these type of biopics

WOW!!! Finally. FINally. FINALLY someone "got" this movie! Got the scope, the message, the talent, the music, the inspiration!!! I've never known a movie that so many people have watched over and over and over. I myself have watched it innumerable times and I feel like every time I do I see something else or feel something else. As Baz has stated, the miracle of Austin Butler makes the vision come to life. A wonderful, wonderful affecting movie... I can't say enough. I only wish the academy had the intelligence to reward it. Although I don't know why we still care what they think....

The Elvis movie should have won in several categories and most definitely Austin Butler should have been awarded Best Actor. The film was a work of art that should have swept the academy awards.

I absolutely love this film. I've seen it 8x since I first saw it last year. I entered it not an Elvis fan but left as one. I'm from the Philippines and of course know of Elvis, he has many fans here but many are older. He was international and worldwide despite the cage the Colonel put him in. I have since read at least 15 Elvis books since June last year, listened to his music, watched all 31 of his films watched some 3-4x more, and watched his concerts, documentaries, and interviews with and about him. I have become obsessed and I never want it to stop. He is beyond comparison and I'm grateful to Baz for introducing me to this film. It is his greatest film imo and a truly underrated masterpiece as you've said. I truly believe in time, this will be regaled as many of us see it despite many others who don't.

Man this video is just fucking fantastic. I’ve been an elvis fan my whole life (I’m 18 btw) and felt so misunderstood for liking elvis when it was such an ‘uncool’ thing for someone my age. This movie absolutely made my love for the king so much stronger and it felt finally that others understood him as well. And now watching this video made me cry, just to see that this movie really is special and a tragedy rather than a regular biopic. This video may well be my favourite video on the internet, thank you for this, it’s such a beautiful film. Austin should of won the Oscar🙌🙌🙌

Baz and Austin should have won the Oscars. Austin did amazing as an actor but just as great representing Elvis. Baz made a colorful, action packed, tons of facts, and got the gist of Elvis’ personality, the influence on segregation, introduced new music and led the way to allow other musicians evolve. I didn’t know what to expect with the Elvis movie but I was majorly impressed. Baz and Austin brought out deep emotions from the viewers and to me if you cry or laugh at a movie, then it’s a success.

I loved the movie. I hated every fiber of Tom Parker but I loved every single frame of him on screen. I have no clue how and why it is so, but it is certainly very interesting and really a great thing of the movie.

You did an amazingly accurate portrayal of Elvis and the movie. My mom was two years older than Elvis and a hugh fan. Her family had lost their money during the depression and she knew what real poverty was like. She loved Elvis for himself. Of course we listened to his music and I was going to his films at age 10 and watching him on T.V. But my mom talked about him like he was her brother. We watched the 68" special together. I was a Junior in high school. You would have to be there in real time to really understand the impact of The assassiations of both MLK nd Robert Kennedy on the American people. When Elvis sang If I Can Dream it was a soul breaker. The civil rights movement and segregation in the south was also happening along with the draft and the Vietnam War. Music was what opened people's hearts and minds. After Elvis started playing in public again other artist started singing about things that really mattered to them. I think that is why many people are attracted to 60's and early 70's music. I am really bummed that the Elvis movie didn't get the "love" it deserved from the Academy. Austin Butler deserved the best actor award . I think Baz deserved best director. His wife Catherine Martin and all the make-up people should have also won an Oscar. the whole crew did an awesome job.
