I know the Open Wheel Racing can be intimidating but they are so much fun and if you get good at them you will dominate! I hope this video help out and i hope you give these races a go!!!

This video is spot on, however as experienced Open wheel racing enjoyer I have some helpful pro tips to share:
1. Just never mind picking R88 & DR1. BR8 is the GOAT, just requires practice at taking corners and time finding the setup that suits you best. PR4 (most noob friendly out of all) has great top speed excellent handling and godly grip - perfect for corner packed tracks such as "Brace for Impact" (the airport track)
2. HARD tyres all the time - there is very insignificant difference in grip improvement between these 3 tyre variants. Hard tyres can easily endure standard 10 laps on small & medium sized tracks, thus saving time from pit lane visits. If you have high traction build on ur F1 car and the host sets 5 laps and no contact, then go for softs.
3. Use KERS boost wisely - The more it charges, the bigger the boost force. Ever noticed how your 2nd lap is usually the fastest? KERS is always fully restocked at the begining of 2nd lap. Using it full at once on straight line will shoot you like a bullet. NEVER boost when entering corner, boost when exiting one. SAVE some boost when overtaking an opponent. Slip stream + KERS boost = lightning speed.
4. Overtake with caution - No one likes to be overtaken, especially low rank players and noobs. Overtake players as widely as possible with the highest speed possible - such tactic gives them no time to react to cut you off or ram into you.
5.Tyres turn orange, time for pit stop - Don't risk it when it comes to long tracks. If you get flipped at such tyre condition and try to recover, they usually pop as quickly as ballons and the trip to the pit stop feels like hell then.
6. Lost a Front wing/ Rear wing or blew a tyre - PIT STOP as soon as you have opportunity. Driving a damaged car for long time can really slow you down. Better 6 seconds it pit lane than 30+ seconds in a uncontrollable coffin.
6. Starting in the back of full lobby? Don't worry, just go slow and careful - First corner of 1st lap always wrecks half a lobby. Let them crash and just overtake whatever is left of opponents.
7. Find your best setup. I own 3 BR8s lol, each with different front wings and spoilers. The most universal build I have is Legendary Front wing (last option) and Racing Tail Fin Spoiler (2nd from the bottom) and Everything else maxed.

Imo you should always go with hard tires on all tracks.
You do 5 flat out laps, pit, and 5 more flat out laps. This way you cover the 8 seconds it takes to pit and it makes you pull ahead
