Even if we don't consider J20 a 5th gen fighter jet, it is still between 4.5 and 5th gen jet which still has a significant edge over our air force arsenal .The only way we can keep china and pakistan in check is by
1. Buy atleast 100+ units of rafael
2. Increase our anti-missile defense system with significant deployment both in eastern and western borders.
3. Make AMCA a top priority project and try to conduct 1st flight within 5 years and induction within 10-12 years.

My doubt is if no private company is willing to come front and form SPV, and years have passed for waiting, is it still worth to wait for years. Even if we consider that private companies do work faster, aren't we loosing time in name of SPV.
Why can't HAL, DRDO and ADE can execute it? Just like Tejas.

We should assembled SU 75 or SU 57 by balanced payment like Bramhose. Which can be marketed by India. Ex Adani are exporting Hermes 900.

AMCA is not coming anywhere before 2030 not even a prototype with the way things are going currently.
I literally feel like it is knowingly being delayed for opening import because once you do, you'll become dependent on that country for atleast 12-15 years.
I lost all hopes with AMCA, better option is to buy SU-57.

The only option left is to just the su57 program with negotiations as Russian is ready to negotiate. It will be a huge mistake by not going with the Russians. Same with the light tank by purchasing the engines from USA, this is what USA wants. Economic sanctions do not last long, if India puts business pressure on USA, they will bend, with 8Trillion debt they will bend.

If AMCA is inducted before 2035 I'll shave my head.

KF21 is not 5th gen.. It doesn't have internal weapons bay.. Only the Block 2 version of KF 21 will be 5th gen and that will take atleast 2035 to be developed.. Only SU-57 is only feasible option for 5th gen buy

If the Government decides to go with Korean fighter jets, then it will be a fatal mistake.

The only logical way out of here is as follows..

1. Order 97 Tejas Mk1A
2. Rollout Tejas Mk2
3. Approve AMCA and let ADA and HAL do the development work and production as well
3. Order 54 more Rafales
4. Focus on AMCA Program and Jet Engines
5. Join a Sixth Gen Program
6. Keep an emergency fund to procure 40-60 Su-57 or F-35 which ever is available of such a situation arises...

Su 57 is a good option.... And according to my opinion I would suggest that GOI should sign a deal with Russian Govt for Su 57 and also can do JV to develop our own AMCA. This would also give an option to use their assembly line, test facility, and other manufacturing facilities to increase the production rate faster of AMCA

Pm modi is bowing to profit making company because electoral bonds are important. No wonder the government said making electoral bonds public is not important.

I recently came onto a Hindustan Times piece headlined "PM Modi doesn't want cost overruns and delays in defence projects, " which discusses the report that Rajnath Singh received from the Vijay Raghavan Committee. It discusses the complete disregard for the advancement of the national defense research ecosystem, with the private sector excluded ostensibly for reasons of national security; an excessive emphasis on the threat posed by Pakistan while ignoring China; and the fact that Indian defense research is constantly in a state of technological "catch up" rather than "breakthrough." I think this is why we are always in situation where our adversaries made sure that we stay import dependent by choice. Time is the crucial factor. The committee also found that Indian defence research is reactive to what was being done in third countries with no plans to lead in terms of technological expertise or advancement.

We can do a joint development with Japan for AMCA and other project too. If we can plug in Kaveri with XF9 we can have a world beater engine. Our planners are simply not pragmatic. India-Japan-France alliance can be a major alliance to combat US, China+ Russia led weapons market. All 3 countries have significant strengths and similar approach to R&D .
