tbh im not really scared of space, but is anyone gonna talk about the fact that most pictures of planets have space as just a pitch black void? like, no stars, just pitch black

I love the feeling of being scared by space, just cosmic dread. the Neptune approach is incredible to watch.

Just want to say, I reckon the "we are so insignificant in the grand scheme of things because look how small we are" is bit of a funny one - of course that thought has come to mind for me as well when thinking about space, but then also - if we were really big would we suddenly stop being insignificant? I think consciousness gives things significance, i.e. things matter because you experience them not because they're materially big. In fact things that I think matter most like love, joy, peace, wonder, etc. are invisible and have no material size.

The thing that scares me the most about Earth is that axial precession (the "wobble") in Earth's orbit causes temperatures to go from 100 degrees in summer, to below freezing in winter. If the temperature changes that drastically because of a slight teetering of earth one way or the other, then we truly are VERY vulnerable to any sort of cosmic change/ event.
