as someone mentioned falling through the sky is terrifying. sometimes when its a sunny day with no clouds and i stare at the sky for too long, i get dizzy thinking im about to fall into the sky. its stupid but it happens

I used to sometimes look up on a clear and starry night and imagine that I’m not looking up but rather looking down. Like some force was keeping my feet attached to the surface and if that force was removed I would fall down into vastness of space.

I have a friend who has a fear of black holes and a lot of it ties into astrophobia. I tried to get him to explain it to me once and he couldn't even talk about it for more than a few minutes without getting creeped out.

God dude, I love space. You look at that pillar of galactic dust and dead star matter and you hear that it’s *nine light years* across, which is already an inconceivable amount of space and time, but then you remember that *our galaxy* is 100, 000 light years across. That that pillar is minuscule compared to it. It’s literally insane, and impossible to understand.

Space is truly one of the most terrifying things to me, and yet, I find it oddly comforting. So much so I watch space videos to fall asleep at night. I would love to see more of these.
