Histology of the thymus

preview_player
Показать описание
The thymus is crucial in the development of a normal immune system that works to defend the body against pathogens and its own abberant cells, and does not attack its own healthy cells. We talk about T lymphocytes coming from the thymus, but what does this really mean? I can show you these cells under the microscope.

Yes there is a lot of overlap .... yes there is a lot of trouble we can get into talking about the immune system, but your introduction to the immune system is crystalline, it sets my brain free with confidence to continue on

Thymus is the site of maturation of T lymphocytes
the thymus can be identified (histologically) by hassall’s corpuscles ( the slightly big pink circle inside the medulla )
